spanky 0
My old man used to drive hondas and mazdas until i sold half my old mk2 8v to him, since then he has bought another mk2 8v and a mk4 TDI which chipped upto 137bhp. Since selling half of my first 8v I have had a mk2 2l 16v with the ABF engine, and now own my VR6.The good bit is when my VR is in the garage having work done (such as today) I get to use his mk2 8v as a second car! VwubbleU 1
I had a lovely mk2 golf 1.3 when i first passed (made it look like a GTI) which ended up dying, and is sitting on my drive. I then dished out £2500 for a mk4 polo 1.4 16v 100bhp in may 06 which i loved to bits (the nicest car 2 drive ever) Then, about 3 weeks ago, at 18, i swapped it for my luvvly VR6, which I love to bits. It was my mechanics, and i took it out for a spin when my polo was being fixed, and just knew i had to have it! The polo gearbox blew up on him the other day aswell, costing £550 - oops, lucky me!!!! mk3anni 0
When i was born my dad had a mk1 rocco and my mum had a small light mk1 golf. Before that they'd both had other small light mk1 golfs and beetles.Dad strayed to vaxhall, ford cosworth etc, now he drives a TT.My brother had a rover, he killed it, then he had a mk2 gti for a good few years, he's now driving an A3 quattro sport.I had a rover, vauxhall, renault, then i got my mk3 anni and a mk1 tin top within a few weeks of each other. Sold them both a couple of years ago and got the VR and the Cabby. As for my mum, she now drives a Tigra.

goonersteve 0
Yeah i've always been intrigued to see a mate driving my VR while i'm in another car, but don't think i would take the risk!
Mr_GTI 0
Right then its quite a listMy first car was a MG Metro '85 then followed by,Ford Orion 1.6 ghia (Not Injection) '86MG Metro turbo '87Pug 205 XS '86Golf GTI 8V '86Pug 205 1.9 GTI '92Golf GTI 16v '87Pug 1.9 GTI '90Ford Sierra XR4i '83ford Escort RSt '87ford escort RSt S1 '85Ford sierra cosworth rwd '88then ran out of money so started againford orion 1.6i ghia '88MK1 golf GTI '82Toyota MR2 '87BMW 320 '87Audi 90 sport quattro '89Golf GTI 8v '86Renault 5 GT turbo '88Golf GTI 8v '88Golf GTI 16v '89BMW M5 '88Impreza WRX type RA '94 MK3 Golf GTI CC '95MK1 Golf GTI '79 (still have) MK1 golf GTI '83 Have forgoten some and proberly some in the wrong order but have owned a fair few more golfs which I never put in my name which were just bought to sell etcAlways ended coming back to 'dubs after trying different cars, which I think gives a better view as to what makes a good car, some 'dub fans I know in the scene have 'brand blindness' they have never tried another marque and alway slate other non VW cars which if you've never tried any thing else seems a bit week?Looking to add to the list a VR soon
purple highline monster 0
If you tried the best first, then why bother? i have driven everything from Rolls royce, porsches, bmw`s lancias, minis, renaults, and all that crap etc etc but i always find my VW `s more pleasing to look at, forgiving, reliable, practical and character filled cars, sure loads of others are faster but if something ticks all your boxes then why deviate, i suppose some do get a bit VW mad, and i know if anybody says "im getting a new car" i always say get a dub! but i know im not sailing them down the river as the brand is good, im hardly likely to shout "get a ford" am i ? theres enough pain in the world!
