Been a while since i have read this one. Good to see it it on the road and winning awards though man. All the hard work is paying off Looks amazing too. Keep it up man as I would like to see more of this -
Wow, that was brilliant... took me a while to work out that joke. haha. Yer, I am hoping the VR does live on for a while longer

So, I am back on here. After much thought and more money poured into the vr6, i decieded i was going to break her and sell for parts. Engine and all. However, my daily driver (mk2 ibiza) has started to give up the ghost. So new plan is too take out the vr6 engine, and rebuild it up with new rings and pistons and possibly head gasket etc. Once this is done, i intend to drop it into the ibiza as they are the same mounts etc. Phase two of this will now begin and as usual, i will be asking a lot of questions on here for help. For example, what are the best sort of pistons to go for? I do not in

Good news today. Managed too get the Carriers off on the drivers side as well (Y) I will be buying new ones as the bolts are still seized in the carrier and they are rusted to buggery. Does anyone have the part number for these as well? Or even any going cheap? Haha. Thanks

Sounds good too me man! Will always want more though :/
-
Some times i feel like giving up on it but i feel i have spent too mch too warrent scraping it. Plus i start it up and give it a rev and that noise makes me want to hurry up and finish it all off. So far I haven't come across anything as bad as a loose gearbox but that is crazy!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Golf-MK3-VR6-Goodridge-Braided-Brake-Hose-Lines-G11-SVW0604-6P-6-lines-VW-/120862094655?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c23f1353f Found this brake line kit on ebay. But not sure if its front or rear lines.
-
Had some time off work so I went about swapping the front wishbone and doing the brake and coilover for the front passneger. The old bush in the wish bone was well and truely f****d. old v new wishbones. I also went about taking off the rear axel to be able to get to the carriers easier... Turns out it was more of an issue than originally thought. One of the holder bolts was proper seized on, so i undid the single bolt that goes through the bush too drop the axel, not ideal but its not that major. During tracking back the brake lines and abs line, found the brake lines were pretty badly

Whey! Good lad. Enjoy your madian voyage in it man! -
Not the only one mate. I too would like to charge mine, though i need to get it road legal first.... There are a couple of kits out there for the vrs and there is even a guide on how to do it on here. Give it a read...Really worth it
-
Super clean looking car mate. Lovely example. You got any plans for it at all?
-
No...he was an idiot... Was only the fronts as well... Today I fitted my new lights and badged grille. I prefer the standard lights to the angles, plus the angels were cracked. Looks a lot tidier now IMO. I also managed to remove the front passenger suspension and brake with no real issues. I'm now ready to attempt to remove the lower suspension arm tomorrow. Any tips on doing so are much appreciated. Did find another funny (or worrying thing) with the car today. The front disk and pads both look relativity new compared to the drivers side ones. Guessing only one side was changed :/

Would like too run about 30mm-40mm lower than standard. just enough too help it handle and sit nice. And do you still own those 20mm spacers?

Nazza27 replied to Surreyvr6's topic in Members Rides and Event Photos
sods law that. -
The front springs are cut on it...(previous owner) I don't intend on keeping it running that low so will raise it up quite a lot once its all done...im hoping. haha. rough riding doesnt bother me as i run a low car as my daily anyway. 15mm spacers then it is if i can find some cheap ones. Will be rolling the arches at some point when I get my roller back....
