  1. Hi.. Am a noob here. have an ageing Corrado vr6. Need to convert it to OBD2. So I need the following OBD2 VR6 bits: - vr6 engine loom with ecu, maf, and loom from fusebox to the engine connector, - keys, immobilizer, immobilizer backers and loom, key sensor Plus anything else which may be needed. If you have these, or know someone who may please pm me. Thank you.
  2. I work at a machine shop and bought a core 12 valve vr6 engine code AAA. Came with nothing but a coil pack. I’m putting it in a 1973 VW Type 3 Squareback. It of course will be turboed and I am trying to figure out if OBD1 or OBD2 is the best option aftermarket wise and also easier depending on pros and cons. I have had a 2000 GTI GLX with this same motor in it but wasn’t into this stuff at the time so the most I had into it was exhaust and suspension and didn’t really need to think about this. Any help I can get would be great.
  3. 2001 VW Jetta VR6 - 6 speed manual I am in the process of trying to diagnose a DATA BUS short (OBD2 port will not work). Can you unplug the ECU, turn key on to test OBD port and replug the ECU in after without issue? Its a simple question but I cannot find a clear answer anywhere. Am in the process of trying to make a list of modules to check. ECU keeps coming up but there is no way I'm unplugging it without knowing if that will damage it or clear it etc. ABS module and Comfort module are on the list but have not tried yet (taking a damn break from this thing - g
  4. Hi, The engine will not start first time, or more accurately it starts and then immediately dies. The second or third time you try the engine will start and run fine. Its an OBD2 VR6 and the problem started when I replaced the Air Flow Meter (& Coil pack). I've checked VAG-COM/VCDS, and no faults are displayed. The air flow meter appears to be working correctly (outputs bigger numbers when throttle is opened). Fuel pressure is fine. Lambda probe seems to indicate the engine is running rich (mostly negative lambda adjustment numbers, measuring blocks 004). Possibly related - I think
  5. Hey Guys im in looking for an ecu for my mk2 conversion . I've a picture below of the ecu that was with the car and the code. Any help would be appreciated as the car is useless without one.
  6. I've got a mk3 VR6 '96/OBD2 and had a prang (slid into the back of a police 4x4 in the rain...ouch!) i need to fit a new front end/rad mount, radiator, crash bar, front bumper and bonnet. Will OBD1 parts fit an OBD2 for all of the above? I understand they may have upgraded the radiator fans etc. but just looking at replacement parts and can get good deals on '92 OBD1 parts but worried they won't fit! Any help much appreciated. Ad
  7. Hi, A while back I bought and used a vGate VS450 fault code reader to track down some running issues (post here). At first I wasn't able to get the unit to read any codes but it turned out to be my stupidity, not the unit! At the time I took some pics, and just found them today, so posted them on my blog for posterity and anyone else who faces the problem or wants to see what the VS450 looks like in use: http://myquickfix.co.uk/2014/05/using-the-vgate-vs450-with-a-mk3-golf-vr6/ I wasn't able to get the unit to reset my service interval 'light' though, so if anyone has been able to do that,
