  1. I'm pretty sure this is a coil pack Obd1 engine. Not sure what it's from
  2. If it's just the chains I can live with that
  3. Thanks mate. Plan will be find a 7 rib stage 1 or 2 and then upgrade. Will do my best to line everything up spot on
  4. If you look in the classifieds on here; http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/42106-golf-mk3-short-shifter/ Thats the one I have fitted and I can't fault it. One of the best mods I did, although I'm used to it now and want it shorter haha
  5. As title. PM me if you have anything. Thanks
  6. Can you use a 6rib belt on 7rib pulleys if it is correctly spaced and running straight?
  7. Hi I want to get a second engine to rebuild. Car is currently OBD2, a mate has an OBD1 coilpack engine that would be cheap. What would be the main differences from the one in my car? Could i just swap inlet and TB over to the OBD1 block or is there more to it? Are the chains different between 1 and 2? Thanks
  8. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RC-4770-K-N-Universal-Chrome-Air-Filter-2-15-16-FLG-6-3-4-B-5-7-8-T-3-1-8-H-/291355699282?hash=item43d6272852 K&N do that, but alot more expensive that the US one
  9. If you manage to find a UK supplier let me know, I reckon that filter will be perfect down in the bumper
  10. I was mentioning recirc valves to a mate and he gave me a Bosch recirc valve. Its a 0 280 142 110, the internet says this is 10 psi. I will only be running stage 1 charger setup so around 6-7 psi. Does this mean this valve will be no good and I need a weaker-springed one? Cheers
  11. I picked mine up off a breaker as they looked better than mine
  12. Seal around the rear light clusters go bad over time, worth checking. Or boot seal I guess
  13. Apologies for another new thread. I would like to make up replacement intakes for my Vortech V1 charger, the ones with the kit will work but look a little home made. I am looking to use silicone and alloy hoses to do this. My question is has anyone done this before and would know off hand what bends etc are required before I sit and try to work it out. I am so far thinking TB>90 deg silicone>straight alloy>45 deg silicone>charger Then Charger>90 deg 100-76 reducer>straight alloy>silicone joiner>MAF>filter. This is just from looking at some photos and not usin
  14. To keep it fully closed loop doesnt the other outlet from the catch can have to go to the intake pipe? The intake pipe I am getting doesnt have outlets for this.
  15. It doesnt look like the intakes on this kit have outlets for catch can etc. Are these easy enough to install?
  16. Ah spot on. I can measure my charger when it comes to work out what size I need. Unless anyone knows what size a Vortech V1 will use for feed and drain hoses.
  17. Awesome. Guy has already said its for non-air con and I have removed mine.
  18. I have been told that the belt is sized correct to be tensioned by the mounting 'block' of the charger. Going to go and have a look/buy on Saturday I think
  19. Ah okay cheers. Do you have to remove the stock tensioner then?
  20. Ah okay. I'll try to find out. May have to ask if you can measure yours up or draw rounder it for me haha. Cheers
  21. Might be a silly question but why do you need the idler?
  22. The guy has said it's ready to bolt on so there might be more, I will ask If not I will have to get one made up
