    maf.

the ecu is mapped for a z engineering stage 1 bolt on charger. but hasn't got one fitted. would it be an advantage to get a new maf and fit or would it make no difference?

what exactly does the maf do? if you have the engine mapped with it off will everything be ok? reason i ask is my vr6 had it unplugged when i got her and i plugged it in and makes no difference to power at all.

  7. my advise to you is down tools and have a real good read upon turbo systems before you make a deadly mistake, or find someone who knows what their doing to come down and give you a crash course in turbo systems
  8. jobs a good un!! managed to get the belt tension off using the 15mm nut and putting downward pressure on it, and reassembling the same!!
  9. mine has started tomake a noise today (just done 200 miles and kept putting wd40 on it). thought i would pop it off and grease it quickly tonight, and the placewere you screw in a bolt to release the tension isn't their!!!! their is threads on the side of the tensioner and you can see where it has snapped of!!! so i tried releasing the tension with a spanner on the 15mm bolt on the actual pulley but i cant put enough pressure on it.going to try with a bigger bar. but can anyone advise what to do please
  10. their is a meet coming up in skegness soon which isn't a million miles from you. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?428673
  11. i've got the same problem mine is 3mm out still and i've got no thread left so they need cutting and a tap running down them.
  12. rather thangoing all the way to wragby (about 45 mins drive) i'll go straight to skegvegas as its only a 30min drive (ok thats with a bit of welly)
  13. suppose i'm going to have to take them out one by one in the engineering place carpark!!
  14. my engine has been lifted with hockey pucks by previous owner, under inspection all mounts have been lifted and standard 8.8 tensile bolts fitted. i am a bit worried about them stretching. i can get high tensile versions easily if i take the existing bolt in only problem is if i remove the bolt to take it in i cant as then i cant drive the car. does anyone know what words i'd have to say to the guy behind the counter to get the right bolts. or where online i could order them from or even better send me some!! thanks mark
