worked out why she feels slower than she should!! the metal clip on the throttle adjustment is missing so i have ordered one from vw (47p+vat) and hopefully should sort it out as the tb was only opening just over half the way!

i was going to say the final drive inside your gearbox as i had this go on an old passat with symptoms you've described. but since you have fitted a new gearbox cant be this. only thing left is clutch then flywheel could of sheared the bolts unlikely but not much left!

yep pretty much what i thought. is their a beefier version i can use as they'll get a hard time with stiff suspension and harsh driving ( a few track days etc)

its when stationary or very slowly moving, its deffo from the top of the strut not hub.

when manoeuvring i get clunking/creaking from the top of my passenger side strut. do i need a new top mount or greeseing up?

going to have to buy a general vr6 manual to see the timing marks on. any one recommend one?

i have a timing light and have set the timing on my old mk1 gti and old mk1 gtd. can any one point me in the right direction for checking timing on this new engine.

When I hit 4 k it pulls really well but nearly nothing at 2 k in 3rd 4th. GOing to get her rolling roaded soon

i'm in muhahahahaha!! and didn't realise how much superchargers are!!! i thought £500 for a second hand kit not 1.5k+

easy ish to fit is fine with me or a bastard to fit will be fine i do know my way round a car just not superchargers. i can do turbo's fine. tbh money is tight at the minute so dont want to be spending a fortune. but at the same time i dont want to put rubbish on my pride and joy.

i have just purchased a mk3 vr6 which is has been rebuilt from inside out with low compression with the following Engine is ABV 2.9 block and head removed from Preg MK3 golf 2.9 Syncro Gearbox from 2.8 MK3 CCM fitted with Quaife Diff. sorry to hijack your thread my one of them is making a noise like it has air in it, as soon as you loosen the expansion chamber lid the noise goes away and it runs perfect. it is a none genuine one.
