  1. collected the majority of the extra bits I need to finish the rear conversion(mk4 specific banjo bolts, calliper sliders)just to pick up the new rear calliper carrier bolts tomorrow. Hopefully pics of conversion completed before the weekend
  2. for the rear you use only the mk4 caliper. Im taking the opportunity to redo my discs, pads, dirt guards and handbrake cables but you can reuse your old ones if theyre in good condition I guess
  3. ive still got a rake of cars but no track lol, been promising myself a track when I floor the loft but itll never happen hahaha
  4. im in the middle of doing it,its actually pretty simple as long as you have the right bits, the mk4 caliper bolts straight up to the rear corrado carrier, you need to get a hose to convert the rear flexi hose to a banjo fitting,C+R enterprises supply these but the hose will come with the wrong banjo bolt for the caliper so reuse the original one from the mk4 caliper
  5. for white on white id go with getting them wet painted at the bodyshop, your guaranteed a perfect match like you say
  6. when I done my mk1 bumper what I did was cut out a rectangular section of the donor bumper and cut that into 2mm wide strips and used that as a 'welding rod' along with a normal soldering iron.Used a similar technique to oxy-acet for actual work although the process itself is more like brazing with the speed involved.
  7. sucks to be me....especially when the garage im in is full of puggy fanatics lmao....damn but I got a verbal slamming today hahaha but yeah(for sake of search faciity and just to clarify) rear brake mk4 caliper conversion/mk4 rear conv./mk4 rear caliper fitting/my rear calipers are ..../why doesnt my mark four golf rear set up fit ... for a mk4 rear set up you do not need the 'full' rear set up as I mistakenly thought,I used standard corrado discs with the standard corrado caliper carriers(I already had purchased new items)and used purely the mk4 caliper only!!! i expected this conversion to r
  8. job for monday is to order A. new rear caliper slides(rado ones are ducked) B. new rear caliper carrier bolts(rado ones are ducked) C new rear dust shields(rado ones are ducked) D. new mk4 rear caliper flexys(to get the banjo bolt) E. pick up missing front banjo bolt from my mate icy(supplied the fr.calipers) F. ail less
  9. Today turned into a clusterbomb as well, expecting it to not be straightforward is one thing but wasnt ready for the abject failure status it ended up. Went to a friends garage sounds of silence(they do custom stainless exhausts)tried fitting the rears first, first problem being the mk4 calipers I had never had banjo bolts and the ones supplied in the goodrige kit didnt fit. Settled for starting to fit everything then onto problem 2,the rear dust shield for the mk4 is nowhere near fitting, ditch that and refitted the knackered corrado one, problem 3 the mk4 carriers do not fit on the corrado hub,
  10. do you mean cunifer or 'green'steel lines?
  11. company that own the truck that hit me are insistent that however little the damage it needs to go through the insurance Still going to fit the brakes and hope for the best anyway...finished the rears, loosened all the brake nipples but one of the rears is shafted so will need to get one before friday,a collection of copper banjo washers as the goodrige set was short and a mk3 sized front brake fitting as ive only got the one of them and the gr set comes with mk4 sized fittings piktarz
  12. just adding I sourced my braided hoses from C+R enterprises in the uk with the appropriate ends You can also specify kits with stainless ends instead of the normal and change the rear fittings if needed if your upgrading to mk4 rear calipers as well Only negative is if your reusing the standard 288 calipers with bigger carriers on the front you have to reuse the 288 banjos as the thread is different to a 312 calipers banjo but they still work with the goodrich hoses
  13. ill need to check that in work,my home comp is the death
