    So....they looked doable so the project daily cracked on preferred method of mounting was to graft in mk3 mounts rather than the whole subframe which dougie handily has a jig for rad trials converting to hydraulic clutch I wasnt keen on the two tone cream show points bay so got it colour coded after the mounts were solid and got some rubber for the wheels(specs are 7.5 and 9x16 and went for 195/40 and 215/35) I wanted the wheels refurbed as they were straight but tatty and asked for a bright silver so to get a sparkly grey I was not impressed... got the tyres off a

    While playing with the green car work was kinda being held up by another car that was always around the workshop in a pretty stripped down state never seeming to get any further forward and basically just tripping over it. It was a pretty well spec'd mk1 with new fk highsports,fully polybushed,h+r arbs,full paint job,custom headliner,flocked dash and the partial strip was due to the abf lump coming out and a VR was meant to be going in.     Couple years back I had finally bought a VR after being jealous of the few that my brother had. I picked up a corrado and documented its development on here at the time. Lots of trials and tribulations later and it ended up like this anyway....... I straight swapped it for an S3 and it was the worst move of my life. Slow,fat,terrible,uninspiring....disastrous tbh. So I crashed it! Picked up a B5 a4 estate which I bumbled about with for a bit and picked up a V different kind of beast as an occasional weekend motor Also got rid of the blue A4 for the black A6 diesel quatt

    my only concern will be the difference between the final polished sand cast centres and the polished aircraft grade billet centres but will have to decide when that happens to go via the plating route on the centres but thats at least 18 months away now. Shes definately going to go for next year in paint

    just to clear up the wheels themselves wont be a scene kids smartie party The centres will all be a similar base colour and the 'bears' will probably be diferent colours/themes

    I waited 5 months on a pair of recaro's and some other stuff from venom then waited a day and a half for the corrados coils As said theyve got certain distribution rights for a lot of euro companies but buy in in bulk so if what your wantings not in stock your in bother. Also just because they 'say' its in stock it sometimes isnt. If possible I get them to locate the stuff while im on the phone and at my most annoyed with them I even asked the guy on the phone to tap the phone off the casing so I coult trust it was physically there....

    my sister got these a few years ago for her 6n polo when she was a wee lass told her id polish them for her christmas one year and even made a start but they have plastic centre caps which mucks up that plan got some billet and even managed to get one of the blocks turned to size but she got a promotion at work and celebrated by buying a 6n2 gti which the 14s wouldnt have worked on so they languished for a while......... and a while longer............ then one of those strange things happened while I was mucking about in work...randomly moving stuff about and having a laugh now....years

    Dean (Bergeson,show organiser)has done that every year from the start and even having your car inside doesnt guarantee you a hotel room on site in either off the hotels as I found to my cost since the second show. Their criteria for 'inside' material gets more bizarre every year as well

    I semi rushed building them for a scottish show,basically I never powdered the barrels which is a pet peave of mine when a customer cheaps out and only does the bits you can see so I stripped them to powder the barrels really but noticed the (wet painted)centres had took a couple stone chips so getting them redone in some special sourced BBS gold powdercoat to stop it happening again and ill give the lips a once over while im there

    My local club has booked a few rooms and theyre showing limited spaces now that link is actually cheaper than booking a room through UD if you have a car in the show btw so hurry up and book Oh and we normally end up with at least half the floor space taken up by randoms on the sat. nite hahaha

    ben,the interior is still standard which is crying out for a recovering in leather and tbh it still needs a bit of love from someone that fancies getting a bit anal with the cleaning impliments,normally id have at least have had the underside wiped down and if I couldve found a spare corrado VR axle idve had that cleaned up and polybushed too so theres still lots of room to improve on this really. I still want to take the rest off the under bonnet soundproofing off as its very patchy and id like to tidy up the engine bay and hide some stuff but its really time to stop tinkering and get serious
