  5. When I met up with ThermalIP4, we did some data logging on my car. One of the settings we monitored, was the MAF, specifically air temperature and volume of air moved. First thing was that my MAF maxed out at literally just under 60 gallons (?) litres (?) of air per minute, and it was decided that the MAF couldn't keep up with the volume required. What have others found? What would a GOOD MAF register? Secondly and more interestingly, was the air temperature, we started with something like 56 Celsius initially it went up, then it went down and down, I think we had it down as far as 34 Celsius,
  6. Looks Sweet....Hope you'll both be very happy!!!!!!!!
  7. I've got a Jetex. Was looking for a Miltek originally, But am very happy with my syste. Just one thought though, you need to decide on wether you want a 2.5 inch or 2.25 inch system. There is a sound difference.

  10. I thought so. So if standard is 195/50/15 am I right in thinking if I went to 16's, I would need 205/45/16, then 17's would be 225/40/17?

    cams

Are these the one that are good for Normally aspirated car or GForced cars. I want to make sure I get them the right way round, as I want to put cams in but I'm not going forced..........
  12. Is that link in the premium members section? I was under the impression that as your wheel got bigger, your tyre got thinner thereby keeping the rolling road radius the same. This is also why I'm a little confused as to which is better, as the OVERALL size of tyre and wheel remains the same??!!!!!

    cams

I think there is a thread somewhere on here about 268 cams being good for normal and forced cars.

  18. I know this is after the fact, but sometime giving a stuck bolt a wrench in the tightening direction ie trying to tighten it up further actually releases the bolt as it cracks the rust seal that has formed. I don't know how or why this works better than just trying to undo them but it does. Another option you have is to drill the bolt out using a bit slightly smaller than the bolt itself, then tapping the rest out after you've drilled through. A pain in the ass but doable!!!!! Best of luck though whatever you do, but remember that a majority of the braking effort is on the front so it should b
  19. Haven't tried that yet. I've got to change my thermostat and temperature sensor, so I will probably try a reverse flush when the system is drained. I just wanted to know how big a job it is come the worst!!!!!!!
  20. Well I now have a NEW problem!!!!!surprise surprise....... I changed my Water bottle cap, whilst I was waiting for the temperature to rise, I turned my heater on to full to remove any air in the system and waited, and waited and waited. The temperature guage went to 90, the top and bottom hose were hot, but still no hot air. So I decided to feel the hoses going into the bulk head. Top hose hot, bottom cold ( well luke warm but nearly cold). So my guess was that the Heater Matrix is blocked. Now then, I'm sure it's been mentioned on here before, but how difficult is it to change the heater matr
  21. AYE. But would it be better again with a smaller wheel?. I fancy doing this mod anyway (eventually) what I'm trying to establish in the meantime is which is the better wheel size??!!
  22. send me a pic of the strut brace mate oldmandon@tiscali.co.uk Cheers for today it was fun, even if my car went to the toilet!!!!!!!! Going in monday to order a new temperature sensor, they didn't have any in stock, but they need the chasis number and I went in the Audi.... Oh got home fine as well....knew I would, got a VW engine see!!!!!!!!
  23. Ok here's a question for all tuner and wheel boffins!!!!!! I'm currently running standard 15inch rims. Now I was under the impression that 16's were better for acceleration. As far as I know, you lose acceleration on a 17 inch rim but what about 16's. The reason for asking is I had a mk2 and that standard had 14's I went to 15's and it's pick-up was much better, however when I was talking to someone about wheel choice, he said I would notice a difference in acceleration if I went up to 16's in that I would lose some acceleration, as this is what he has experienced. So what have all you guys ex
  24. He's right it was hotter than mine, and mine was pissing water out of the overflow!!!!!. Just bought a new cap for mine to try that.... But whats wrong with his car.....?????
