    yeah, so i dont know what to do now. i need a recon one but they are rare to find - thats why i was going to give them either of mine to do

    yeah thought so but no leaks so im confused. gearbox company said if not leaking its just a cast mark :/

    im told these are just cast lines as if they where cracks they'd leak like crazy - meaning either could be reconditioned. they follow exactly the same line .i need to know if either can be reconditioned so whats your opinion ? i know someone has tried to weld the first one.

    has anyone got the spider thing with singular bulb ? i will buy it off you i really need one!

    i dont have the plastic extensions - which sucks! but thanks i will try and squeeze the plastic liners in between the plastic and metal

    ive just put new tie/track rod ends on, when adjusting the tracking-just so its as close as possible i need to know: does turning the tie/track rod do anything? - not the track rod ends . i mean the bit they thread onto. how do i sort this out : one wheel is pointing out to far- how do i know which one? how and what do i adjust to sort it ?

    what do you mean? im trying to squeeze the edge inbetween where the plastic arch attaches.

    isnt the edge ment to go between the metal arch lip and where the plastic arch attaches with rivets?

    whats the best way of re installing these arch liners ? they have been a right pig to reinstall so thought id ask its these things

    hi guys am going to save for a reconditioned automatic gearbox. where is best to go - i live in guernsey. i need to buy a reconditioned unit not have mine reconditioned. i need an auto gearbox to fit 1994 vr6 - the code on mine is CFF

    it was in january thaat i bought it so too late ... he blamed it on the transport that i payed for. i have the old box so im considering after speaking to a auto gbox mechanic to start taking pics and drawing diagrams for taking it apart. then when i get to the reverse bits ill see how hard it would be to replace. any views are welcome - this is on old vr6 auto box that has cracked down the side btw

    after everything being sorted out i drove the vr with its new automatic gearbox. drives fine in everything but reverse where it just slips . When the new gearbox came ( that i spent £400 on ) it had some clutch plate bits in the sump. At this time i contacted the seller who reassured me its fine and its been tested thoroughly . what do i do guys? this is so demoralising after the amount of my time and money that has gone towards it for new gearbox, chains guides tensioners, water pump, rad, thermo housing, crack pipe, driveshaft boots etc etc ...

    woo its a good day ! tapping gone after leaving car for a bit. however lots of smoke - spilt oil on engine! whats the best way to remove it as cant get to it to wipe it off?

    car has been off the road for about 1 and a half years.. changed gearbox, timing chains tensioners and guides aswell as loads of other stuff. loud ticking from airbox side of the engine, how do i get rid of this? will it go after a while? no noise from chain side

    fixed it !! cooler was sitting the wrong way around so the front seal was only sealing on certrain parts. thanks so much for input just have to sieve coolant lost that i have caught and replace a few litres of oil and hope the two havent mixed !

    is it possible the oil cooler is on the wrong way ? and do both hoses off the oil cooler carry coolant ?

    yeah i know what you mean, thats all clear so must be seal. it should come in friday then ill compare the two seals and give it another go. up to attempt number 7

    just ordered a new one incase the new one i bought thats leaking was wrong. im outta ideas on this one. does the cooler have to line up with anything on the engine ? like a return hole ??because maybe if oil is being pumped in but not escaping the pressure is causing it ?

    same thickness and depth however old one has a lip making it fit better , i think this is why its leaking ? just tried it with old seal that has lip and still leaked but could be where it has chips out of it.

    here is a video of it leaking , the new seal is on btw. the voice in the vid sounds rude but we had to shout as quick as possible to save oil what could be wrong and what do i do

    when you look at the photo its the one on the left thats old and one on right thats new. the old one had a lip new one doest. the new one leaks but why ? more pics would help ?

    these are the front seals , left is old one and right is new. the new one is slighty different ie without a lip - could this be why ? when i put it inside the recess the new one has a slight gap but old one is snug fit. it only leaked after these had been changed i think
