    cleaned the throttle body out - before picture also breather hose was split left side of rocker cover -

    sorry for another thread guys, are there 2x different types of catalic converter and lambda sensors for the golf vr6? mine is a AAA engine. regards :-)

    hi peeps me again, got a very good friend who works for VW and he was in today on overtime. we put the car on VAG COM and found these fault codes - 00527 intake manifold sensor - it was broken off, what does it do - maybe causing bad idle? :-( 00533 Idle Speed Regulation - yes it idles bad and cuts out sometimes (tried several idle valves and does it) :-( also we put a probe up the exhaust and the high idle (2500rpm) emmisions are very high and the low idle emmisions are high. so if anyone could help that would be fantastic :-)

    all done guys and stopped leaking just a little fiddly doing the seal that mates to the block as i left the water hose on but all done now :-)

    fucking 24mm oil cooler wont budge and i cant find my bloody breaker bar!

    cool just got the seals guys, does all the oil have to be drained from the sump? or can i do it without doing this?

    as title how many layers of basecoat will i need on my golf VR6 boot? ive done 3x so far and run out also layers of lacquer needed? using aerosols by the way :-) this is after the 1st basecoat in the picture below! :-)

    it is the oil cooler after all! so orders some new seals from VW £6 in total :-) what size is the nut on this?

    top man i only done it to 28nm i think, going to chuck a neal genuine VW seal in there and see what happens!

    just checked the oil cooler and its as dry as a bone! the oil filter cap with the 32mm plastic nut is oily so im presuming its that seal, although its just been replaced with a new filter and seal (non genuine) :-(

    my vr6 has a slight oil leak from the front of the engine, only leaks when its on my drive which is a slight hill, any flat surface and it wont leak! think its coming from the oil filter housing, the screw cap where you have the big plastic cap and 32mm nut on it to get the oil filter out or the 2x sensors on the oil cooler whatever they are for? it has been serviced recently. the screw cap with the 32mm nut has oil running down it i noticed! not a lot though!

    cool, sorry it is an N reg my mistake, would know what valve it is buddy, any tell tale signs from the body thats its a 16v? car is bloody clean apart from the damage :-(

    ive got my eyes on a golf mk3 GTI on a P reg plate from a mate, its like a blue/purple in colour and a 3 door, 79k and MOT till end of the year. looks very tidy but has some damage to the drivers side rear quarter and its fixable but quite bad (very rippled metal). how much would it be worth do you think? also what price in breaking if would i get need be??
