    sorry for many post today guys, done a search and loads comes up, whats the best oil for a standard golf vr6? going to buy some now.

    here you go, when i disconnect this plug, sometimes the car will run sometimes when disconnected it will run more lumpy and cut out.

    cant get to the idle control valve, theres a black cover over it but i havent got the correct socket to get the bolt off, its like a torx bolt but loads more splines on it! need to find the name of what there called. hold on ill get a picture for you to see if its obd1 or 2.

    not sure, pretty new to the vr6, what do you want me to take a picture of for you to tell?

    thanks guys, spark plugs look a bastard to get out, do you have to take the alloy housing off that goes over the rocker cover i take it?

    just checked the spark plugs and one is very black (rich i guess), i take it to get to all 6 sprak plugs of them your meant to take the cast alloy cover that goes over the rocker cover to access them?

    hi guys going to give the VR6 a good service as its running a bit rough! wheres the best place to get spark plugs, HT leads, dizzy, oil filter, air filter etc... from? :-)

    hi nat havent checked the leads and sparks, im just going outside now to do this. so the car should still run when i disconnect the MAF from the rubber airbox pipe then??

    UPDATE - car is now doing this from cold and actually cuts out so i have to start it again, give it a bit of throttle and its ok, just idling it will run very lumpy and then cut out! car drives perfect still with no missfires etc.......

    when warm it will idle like a bag of crap hunting between 400rpm and 700rpm, any idea whats wrong? will clean the idle controll valve tomorrow but anyhting else that could cause this?

    my golf has a ash black paint, but where do you find the correct paint colour for it?

    why was this? also is there much difference in performance? can a corrado engine be put into a golf? :-)

    i drive it about the same everyday!

    as title, when i first got the car a full tank was getting me 285 miles before i filled up, the other day i only got 235 before i needed to fill up! can you list all the things that may be the cause! :-)
