    Disconnecting the battery will clear any codes in the gearbox and idling will recalibrate it. If the car hasn't been used much lately the throttle body may need a clean out first.

    The gearbox 'learns' driving behaviour, if it's driven normally the kickdown is as you describe and normal. If you drive like a nutter the box learns and changes more aggresively, You have the 01m type dipstickless box.

    Trollolol, you was all done up like kippers! Still we had a laugh, the brakes are fine btw just the sensor lighting the warning light, and it was running with a misfire on cylinder 1, new HT leads now and some redex and she's singing! (the speedo is the only problem - it's stuck).

    Driving along saw a big german shepherd/alsation having a go at passing cars, you know barking at them trying to bite tyres etc and pulling its owner about. So I snuck up and..... floored it, . Seems vr induction noise can tame mad dogs.
