  1. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?367492.post Same as mine and rare although not very pretty. I've heard them called Le Mans alloys. There's another VR with them on here belonging to deanvhr6. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?406514.20
  2. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/220768216260#ht_7470wt_1139 Another top advert.
  3. You might be right there Don. Glad not to have to use the pedals in the jam tho. I met up with my VAG mates in Brean just down the road from WSM where they are doing a show in May http://www.vanwest.net/ Its a top location with access to the beach for cars.... might be worth a gander?
  4. Arrrrghhh! Just got back. 2 lanes of the M4 were closed, so spent an hour and a half in one of those queues that you see going the other way and think to yourself 'I'm glad I'm not in that'. Good to meet y'all, (didn't your cars look even better after mine arrived)? Thanks to Don for arranging it and giving directions. Time trial round a multistory anyone?
  5. I'm up for this - bucket and spade ready - what's the venue?
  6. Being out in the sticks we've got these buggers to deal with..... There were a couple of BMW x5's but they only lasted a couple of weeks until they got written off - one farmer was quoted as saying 'They better not have ruined my crops' - theres sympathy for you.
  7. Do you mean the heater fan (inside the car) or the radiator fan (in the engine)? If it's the heater fan, then yes, I have a noisy one too. Most of the time its fine but on left hand corners it squeaks and some times it buzzes randomly. I've changed the control module without it making a difference. I'm guessing it needs some WD40 but dont know where to squirt it.
  8. Personally speaking I gave a 4mo a nice view of my backside just yesterday. They are heavier than 2wd and it can show. A lot has to do with how you drive, and the type of roads - 4wds through tighter corners can handle extra speed but a slow in fast out lighter 2wd can do nicely too. Try driving both and seeing which bet suits your driving style, especially when you're giving it some.
  9. Doesn't sound good tbh. Try disconnecting the battery for 15 mins to clear any electrical glitch, otherwise vag-com it.
  10. Just the four. 1st is good for 40mph, 85 in 2nd, 110 in 3rd, not sure what 4ths top end is. Gearbox has a sport/economy setting it learns from your right foot.
  11. You'll get through brake pads quicker with an auto - no engine braking - so go for some fancy discs/pads aswell.
  12. My PC is also my ATM (that's Personal Computer and Automatic Teller Machine) I buy and sell horse racing bets on Betfair sports betting exchange ( I know nothing about horses). It's like running a shop, if you buy cheaper than you sell you make a profit. Experienced traders can easily make a very good income. Trouble is it can get boring clicking buttons all day on a PC. Search youtube for bet trader/ betrader or racingtraders.tv - some good instructional vids - but don't buy their software. I'd be glad to help with any questions you've got.
  13. Always worth looking at your ping speeds - the time it takes to contact your server - no point having a superfast motorway (bandwidth) if you are driving a slow car (ping).
  14. Pole position? I use the internet for financial trading so a nice quick connection is vital. It says ISP is telewest but it's Virgin cable.
  15. I'd just clean and polish them mate, not many of these wheels about especially on a VR.
  16. I'll be there on the Sunday -thanks for the heads up.
  17. Yes mate their called 'Le Mans' alloys - French for 'the mans' lol Any more pics as I'd like to see what my car would look like if I cleaned it.
  18. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/homedics-sbm-210h-3gb-shiatsu-back-massager-with-heat-02279338-pdt.html It's a heated massage seat. Very nice. Anyone know how you could fit one into a VR?
  19. Any chance of a group buy on these - one for the car and one for the wife?
  20. Thanks for the replies fellas - but Menaro too big VXR too small (engine). Makes me think it was a built Astra V8 like this one - but louder. Very nice. [youtube=]-Gpf-iGhe0E
  21. Pretty sure it was an astra, but it didnt have opel/GM stickers, just something like Harmann badges. This thing was quick, I've never seen anything go away from me like it. I'd just made a Boxter look silly and was all happy then this thing turns up! Sounded like a tank and had four pipes at the back, I've googled Harman and got nowhere any ideas what it was?
  22. Hi, what year is it and does it have a dipstick, any other symptoms or does it work fine apart from this?. Might be worth checking electrical connections and disconnecting the battery for 15 mins.
  23. There will be times when you let urself down driving wise, just learn from it instead of letting it get to you. If its any consolation yesterday I went to go to Weston super mare and got involved with a new civic type r he came right up my arris so I let him past and then stuck to him as he tried to get away - he didnt. Happy about that - not happy about missing the exit and having to go to Taunton to turn round lol. Live and learn.
