  4. Hmmm.. Ive certainly never felt it 'boggy' or unresponsive ? with a 0-60 of just over 5 seconds it pulls the pants down on most standard vr's ive driven. The steering has weight to it so it feels like half power steering the 4wd system is the same as 4motion/r32 being haldex. But its a shame to compare it to a vr as they are both very different cars. But i'd like to add.... I love a vr6, more so than the s3, its just the s3 is bit more modern, a bit quicker and a bit more comfy as a daily. Give me a vr6 lump for the noise and fun any day.
  5. Hey mate, The 2001 onwards are 225 bhp(bam engine code), the pre 2001 are 209 standard, Ive had vr's and ive got a s3 now, its been mapped to 260, I loved my vr's but theres no comparison mate. First thing i do when i get in, switch of the esp. 4wd great car..

  13. http://s1042.photobucket.com/albums/b429/nero1701/ here's some i done last week, increased the centre bore by 6.1 mm Looking at the wheel above, imo there is not much meat left for the hub to 'sit' on and i would question my safety
  14. I run a S3 and golf gti but at time have had 4 on the go at once. just got a bittired of handing out road tax and mot's every other month. Both the Golf and the S3 are mot'd till october and taxed till christmas so 2 times a year i take a hit but worth it for the fun, when im a bit poor, i run the gti as its cheaper on petrol, when i want white knuckles i drive the S3.The golf is insured as a 2nd car and comes to 122 a year to insure!!

  18. Ive just 'modded' a set of mini wheels for my mk2!! Mii centre bore is 51 mm, as we know a vw is 57.1. I used an End Mill and a 360 deg. rotating table, clamped wheel to the rotating table and used a dti guage to find the centre axis of the wheel, then i move the wheel to where the material i wanted ro remove started and cut in 3.05 mm then rotated 360 deg.. worked a treat!!
