  1. c'mon someone must be able to help!?
  2. after talking to a few guys they said that if you map a GT35 it will be quite laggy if you keep stock internals, with stock capable of 400ish There's a guy on vwvortex running 550bhp on stock internals with just a head spacer plate. I know these engines can take serious power but will tend to brake shafts quite often with alot of low down power
  3. i thought the 263s would be less lairy than the 268s.... reading a few comments on vwvortex and apparently a guy (with 268 cams) pulled lengths on his mates vr (with 263 cams) Yeah i nearly fell off my seat when i saw the price of schrick cams new! $1000
  4. So where's the best place to buy them from? the exhaust ive got will be fine (hardly any restrictions and a decent diameter) people said the power band will be about 3500, but it seems to be pick up best around there atm....
  5. looking at 268 cams. Been told they will work with both and NA and turbo's engines (F>I at a later date) but which brand to go for schrick techtonics schimmel DRC All seem to have good ratings on the forums from what ive read also read about people having to change valve springs, head gaskets and a remap when changing cams.... ? thanks
  6. Got my confirmation the other day for an inside spot so see you guys and gals there. pressure is now on to get work started and finished in time
  7. so the mk3 has been sat in the garage along side a 700ngp r33 skyline, sapy cossie, g60 mk1 and a corsa..... work will be starting next week! pick up an engine stand tomorrow.... gives some kind of hint of the type of work we'll be doing ready for UD in march
  8. Never really noticed until a few ago when i took the mk3 out for its last final drive before the makeover, but the gear changes were really sloppy! Might aswel be stirring broth.... Best way to tighten up the gear changes? I heard of a few people using mk4 shifters.... thanks
  9. Right pain of a job? How much you reckon it needs to be extended?
  10. smoothing the bay and unsure whether to run through the chassis legs or behind the wings..... but either way the looms are going to have to be extended. Anyone done this? Is it easier to buy another loom and extend the orig using the second one? Will drivers side have to be extended at all? the loom for the headlights seem to run above the chassis leg.....
  11. I've just picked up a mk5 fiesta zetecS and its a canny little car. Pretty goos fun on the back roads. Was looking at a 306DTurbo but the fiesta was a better buy (plus I'm not keen on french) My VR was great in the snow last year but I don't want to risk driving it this year or ruin the paint.

  13. ive got 17x8 with 195/40 tyres coilies on the final thread on my FKs, runing around et20 and theres plenty coilover clearance, has hit the arches a few times though.... fronts are running -2 camber and backs are -1
  14. arches wont ego anywhere near the tyres down 40mm be fine
  15. hoping to get ot work on the bay over winter. nothing OTT just keeping it simple is it easier to buy a second loom to extend the loom> Ive seen a few VRs and VRTs running fiat radiators due to them having a top fill. How do they mount and what are people doing about the fans? thanks
  16. Where is the best/cheapest place to buy the rear bushes? Need the car booked in soon as! Cheers
  17. Theres not many people near me on this forum otherwise i would happy give you guys beer money compared to a garage. Ill check the for sale section out. Ive found a few different types of powerflex bushes, whats the difference in them all?
  18. been doing a searching on here and the car is all the way down on coilies so its already a stiff ride which some people have said o affect if its really low best to buy from powerflex direct? not going to attempt to fit these myself, getting a garage ot do it, after the trouble my mate had with his solid bushes
  19. if it were poor tracking wouldnt the front end be sliding all over? Ill have to check bushes. If they need replacing is it best to go OEM or go for powerflex? thanks
  20. running -2.1 up front and -1 degree of camber out back. But the back is factory. Toe... im not sure tbh last time it was checked was a few month ago
  21. Ok so a few things have changed since this was last updated took some pics in "the toon" All about the little touches! Rear brakes were getting slightly worn down so time to change them. What a pain it was! bolts might aswel have been welded on! Part of the brake pipe started ot twist to we had to trace it back to a join that was free. new parts (both sides have been replaced with genuine dealership parts! Just haven't pictured parts for both sides) new vs old (like I said only slightly worn....) The car it to Edition where it made a big stir. Steve Denton tried ot buy the RFs and w
