  1. The local garage were charging £40 just to remove the old alarm or £220 for removing old alarm and fitting a new Hornet Maxx 1 alarm cat 1 which works with the full closure system already on the VR.
  2. Could it be the crank case breather?
  3. I recently had a problem with my standard alarm after I jump started her and got a Hornet Maxx 1 cat 1 alarm fitted and old alarm removerd for £220 this included total closure. Can't complain really.
  4. I did mine last week. Eurocar Parts approx £14 for an aftermarket or £35 for OEM. TPS charge £57 for the same item. Its very easy to do... remove the wheel and take of the plug with wires going into the sensor. Carefully remove the bolt using a spline or torx bit, can't remeber which one, remove the old part and replace the new and put it all back together.
  5. Yep... its the front drivers side. My mate put his Snap-on diagnostics checker and the fault is front right ABS sensor. We went for a drive and it was reading speed from all 3 wheels other than the front right.
  6. WTF where did that come from? Did not expect that!
  7. I really dont know what to do... I have standard VR6 solitudes with good tyres on the car I have purchased some 17†Porsche Turbo Twists which I am currently refurbishing Yesterday I purchased some BBS RXII What should I do? What should I keep and what should I sell? The Porsche turbos need tyres and some adapters for the rears and RXII are ready to go on after a quick split and polish.
  8. Had the VR in this morning for new rear discs and pads front drivers ball joint and ABS sensor. Fitted the ABS sensor cleared the fault however no signal is being picked up. Any ideas what could be wrong / what needs replacing?? Thanks in advance.
  9. Pete is it possible to get a tax disc holder as the car came with sticker
  10. Well after a few months of sitting in the garage it was finally time to get started on the refurb! New wheels arriving Monday.
  11. Mate keep an eye on flea bay! I got a Alpine headunit with mp3 for less than £100 and found a 10" Alpine S Sub in a box with a small Kicker sub for £36 with wires as i just wanted light bass (new car sound). To finish i purchased some good Alpine components for the front from In Car Entertainment in Leicester - check their web for good discounts.
  12. I had this problem with springs before I put on the coilies. You might find that the spring has some how gone over the retaining plate at the top of the suspension arm and is rubbing in the recess where the suspension arm sits. Worth having a look.
  13. Had to get the old alarm ripped out and new one fitted yesterday! Not happy!
