  1. I've now also noticed a ticking noise coming from the wheel, it sounds like a big stone stuck in the tread, and I've checked, there isn't! It happens in a straight line and possibly goes away/gets quieter when turning It doesn't always present itself until going above about 20-30mph then it will click with speed relative to the speed, and will continue clicking right to a standstill under braking.
  2. I've some some power flex ARB bushes if you're interested, I was going to it then to mine but then changed my mind when I saw how it came off so I just bolted mine all back up lol
  3. It's easy just a but of a drawn out job, you have to take the pillar trims and the strip across the top of the boot off and the sunroof parts if applicable, you may find it easier to take the rear quarter cards out if you're a 3dr to get the b pillar trims off without destroying the clips
  4. If I got a bora it would be done exactly like you did, but kept the R32 wheels, it's so nice looking
  5. Those 2 13mm bolts that clamp on the ARB are a right barsteward. You fitting an updated one or just another standard one?
  6. I was just having this conversation with yakuza racer about the AC and non AC pumps possibly having different pulleys, as he wants to get rid of his AC but says he has a toothed pulley for a double sides belt as opposed to my non AC car having a smooth pulley and single sided belt. And yea thats the oil temp sender for the dash MFA readout, I've had to replace it a couple of times as they are made of sh!te and corrode really fast, you can get them from dealers and as of last summer they were like £3.50
  7. i shouldnt think youd want movement in your girlfriends knickers, unless you got her from bangkok
  8. maybe he took the term rice burner literally?
  9. look up information about the schrick VGI, they are the company that VW sold the rights to the system to, and i think (apart from the VWMS having spark plug holes in it and the schrick not) are the same system
  10. the cost of the belt and post to SA would be £31 tracked, i just checked on the royal mail site, that is with a guesstimate that it would weight up to 500grams, if it was less it goes down by about £1 less per 100grams Untracked would be £26. if you wanted i would do it for you, no skin off my nose.
  11. did you have to garage it aswell?
  12. i got to the 3rd page and had enough with unhelpful non sensical attempts at being funny so closed the page ha
  13. 3.3ohm 0.6watt from maplin will stop an error from appearing on vagcom, stopping the light seems a bit hit and miss
  14. When driving along a smooth road I get no sounds from the suspension as if all is OK, but when i got over potholes or sharp bumps I get a knocking, speed doesn't seem to be a factor in this, fast or slow it still happens. Then when I come to reverse park at home I reverse and full lock left and get 1 big loud knock, never any more and it doesn't knock when I straighten up and wont knock going from lock to lock slowly forwards. The knock only ever comes from the driver side front. I've just fitted powerflex bushes all round and it has made it more noticeable but not more frequent, I assume due
  15. word of advice about the new bolts.... get new bolts and new plates for the ball joints too Each side they were so seized that 1 bolt snapped and 2 of the captive nuts came free and just span so had to cut them
  16. lol i managed to jigsaw my hand pointy end first so it didnt cut a long hole it stabbed right in, could see my tendons moving and stuff.
  17. The passenger side wishbone is now powerflexed. Looking back at the job, taking it off was the easy bit and it didnt want to come off! Here is the old tired OE bushes and after lots of drilling, sawing, chiselling and hammering the rear came out The new bush was quite easy to fit actually, the instructions said this would be difficult and would need to be pressed in, i just greased it and stomped on it, popped on first time The front was more difficult to try and release, i tried drilling, sawing and cutting and ended up burying a jigsaw blade point first into the back of my hand after it j
  18. The water pump runs on the smooth side of the belt on my factory non AC car, is the AC water pump different and needs double sided then?
  19. Huh the belt is like half the price of an AC belt in uk like £19 I'll take a look at the way my belt is installed tomorrow morning for you, but mine is factory non AC
  20. Managed to get the wishbone installed back in, I used adhesive on the washers to hold them in place and copper slipped the buses up and the seats in the chassis loads, the next step involved shoving, hammering, stomping and kicking lol Roll on the drivers side where I have raising the engine in the mix
  21. i can tell you the non ac belt is contitech 7pk 1290
  22. yea its on the top of the ball joint and connects it to the hub, couldnt get it off for anything. Theyre powerflex and look a little more of a tight fit than the standards do too, and theres these 2 washers that flatten out the shapes on the rear bushes, so trying to get them in place and push the bush in has proved a right PITA, more grease is my first plan lol cheers
  23. I've been using plain old BKR5E in mine and they are well up to the job an about a third the price
