  1. More pics Sports cat from 42 draft designs, exhaust flange to be welded on. Green stuff pads fitted, more stopping which is good.
  2. Replaced the air ducting with some nice 76mm piping and its so much better. Going to change the spring in the VF recir valve to a forge 007p yellow spring. I am on my 3rd stack boost gauge and finally thats sorted so last thing is get the sports cat fitted and thats me until early next year. Tweaks to the map will be done in Nov so will post up the results, hopefully I will hit around 285+ bhp and more torgue, who knows lol.
  3. Cheers Kev. I have a yellow one en route.
  4. Does anyone know if the spring can be changed for yellow forge 007p spring with no issues? It seems a really easy process. I don't want to buy one then figure out it cannot be done.
  5. Cheers. Vince and I was discussing this and the points mentioned on my post Thu Sep 29 2011, 08:36AM should help to address this.
  6. No lol. I just phoned told them the situation regarding the previous owner and gave them the invoice number and mentioned that the cat was bought with the flange attached but should have been included and he agreed. I must admit the 42 guys are very helpful.
  7. Graphs and data from the mapping session at Stealth.
  8. No problem v6horse. There is a fitting on the inlet side of the charger for the crank house breather but I decided to delete this due oil getting on the MAF and in the charger as well. In the end I got given a oil catch thank and run the oil breather in the fender.
  9. Sorry for being lazy, Thought it best to update the thread. I decided in the end to get new tappets and have Stealth Racing map the car. Before any conclusion are made on the mapping this was my choice and based on research. I felt for my application is was the avenue I wanted to go. Both VInce and Matt have been extremely helpful. I would also like to say thanks to Jim for calling me and giving me a kick up the ass. And off course all you guys for posting and PMing me. So next steps. As mentioned by Jim in my build thread the torque pattern is somewhat off in the high rev ranges and this coul
  10. Cheers Kev, In the end I contacted 42 draft designs and they agreed to ship me exhaust flange for free. So all good.
  11. Just an update, I got a Magna flow sports cat with a 2.5in bore so this should fit well with the Jetex. Had issues with the Stack boost gauge but hopefully this will be sorted tomorrow. Decided to get a 1m alloy pipe to replace the air ducting behind the VR front splitter. So connected to the charger inlet pipework I have the below 2 inch silicone joiner 76mm 2 inch alloy hose joiner 76mm 90 degree elbow 76mm MAF 4 inch silicone joiner 76mm Air ducting 2 inch silicone joiner 76mm K&N air filter Oh and lots of Jaffa tape and zip ties. This weekend sees the end of the air con.
  12. Looks good, when do you think she will be finished? Are you planning to go charged?
  13. Cheers all, I have a go this weekend. I'll need to fit the idler pulley for the charger. Oh the air con pump is the one below the alternator?
  14. I've managed to source a 200cpi 2.5in bore Magnaflow Sports Cat via 42 Draft Design in the States from a chap in the UK. Its missing the Exhaust Flange at the URL below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170577779531?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I am not sure would this fit? Its the fitment a standard and generic?
  15. Jetex all the way, I have had Magnex, Milltex and Jetex on my MK3 Golfs.
  16. More still to come, Mocal oil cooler, Remove the air con, Autotech upper strut brace, Power coated inlet manifold, Green stuff pads, Forge 007p with green spring, Now that the air intake is sort time to drop her low again, she just seems so high up lol. Going to also remove the rear door window motors etc..to save on weight. I am also thinking about removing the spare wheel and cutting out the hole and welding this up. Also going to push the rears out more on at least 10mm giving me an ET of 15 on the rears and 25 on the fronts.
  17. Hey RCF, I got the idler pully. I thinking the air con stuff must weigh at least 35lb and I dont use, thats what the sunroof and windows are for. I will have a look at the FAQ threads on the oil cooler thanks. I will post so pics on how she looks.
  18. Ah yes sorry Guys, my England is terrible today. Cheers Ian.
  19. Bloody stone has shot my air con rad. Has anyone removed their aircon? What do you do and what do I need to keep the blowers in the car? Thanks for any advise.
  20. Well another update, I bought a 76mm 90 degree elbow and made a joiner to move the MAF of which works fine and idles even better but..............I took her out for a quick thrash and a bloody stone has popped the air conditioning radiator so I am well pissed off. Not sure what to do I am thinking delete the air conditioning and install a mocal oil cooler. This allows me to drop some weight and crap from the engine bay. If you rip of the air con, I still need the blowers. Another forum question.
