  2. bloody f**kin hell Gav, that looks great!! The Wax def worked!! Lovely lookin house too... but parking on the road?!?!?!?!
  3. Is it on the left hand side of the block as you look at the car with the bonnet up?? If it is the left then it could be your belt tensioner pulley is shot and you need a new one, cheap and easy fix, can do that yourself.... If it is coming from the right it could be your chains, if so that's a bigger and more expensive job...
  4. Just gotta share this, as most of u know i had my fogs, indicators and reflectors stolen, i have replaced most, but while i was sending a parts request to a vw dealer with obsolete stock i asked if he had any new (on the off chance he did and they were cheap) check out the response!! We are able to order a fog lamp set including clear trims and repeaters from Volkswagen the R.R.P Inc vat is £354.25 errrrrr.... no! 8-)
  5. well done Benny Boy!! Roll on the ring trip!! woop woop!! cant wait to get on the autobahns in it!! :)
  6. Yeah you will for sure, I run 205/45/17s on mine and even got a bit of scrubbing on the rear, had to lift mine a tad and stiffen it til i can get the arches done... you can always go for a bit of stretch though.... depends on the size of the wheels??
  7. have you checked Vibratechnics to see if they do what you're after?? http://www.vibra-technics.co.uk/parts/part-results.asp?mid=13

    central locking

The chains shouldnt be noisey really, if there is a noise then thats the beginning of them starting to wear... you can hear the difference though between chains running normally and chains running lose. It is always fixable though, i did mine with a forum member (who is also a mechanic) and it was a lot cheaper than the 700-800 a garage quotes!! so dont panic, nothing is fatal... With regards to the price, my view is very much that a car is worth what you are willing to pay for... 2k is reasonable and what they are getting right now, but obviously that depends on a lot of factors with regards
  9. Yeah, like these... http://vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?324559.post not to my taste though!! Some people have the black steering wheel as it has been changed previously and i think some people that took the highline went with the black wheel option instead of the wood.
  10. The higline interior should have a wooden gearknob and steering wheel and also black a,b and c pillars as apposed to the cream ones in standard vrs... as for the heated leather, im fairly sure most came with it but not 100%. (and obv the leather is purple in the mulberry highline) Hope that helps.

    central locking

Hey, You're looking at 20 odd quid for a central locking pump, not the end of the world... a car of that sorta age is going to have the odd little thing here and there, thats why you get so much car for your money, just be sure to read through the buyers guide and write a little checklist to take along with you. The major thing to be wary of is the chains... get the seller to rev the car to 1500 and with the bonnet up listen to the right side of the block, make sure there's no rattles, cuz that i would walk away from... good luck though!! let us know how you get on!! :)
  12. personally id say too much time effort and money for the amount you would gain. The corrado lump is only 190bhp. Id just go the turbo or charger route if i was you then you're looking at 280bhp straight from the off... Thats just my opinion though...
  13. Somewhere like GSF or Euro car parts should be able to sort you out. I have the GSF leads for £50/60, and they've been fine for over a year now.
  14. Well it looks like tha majority can make a Sat so maybe we can give that a go, what sort of time shall we meet??
  15. I hope you get this resolved mate... With pete having the I.P address details etc im sure the police will track him down somehow... thats too much money to let him walk away with. Keep us updated on how it goes yeah?? Good luck!
  16. See these or look on Ebay, there are always some on there... http://www.superflex.co.uk/results.php?maker=50&man_name=Volkswagen&searchmodel=260&Search=Go http://www.powerflex.co.uk
  17. I guess you are gonna have an expensive time of things, if you're gonna change the gearbox id do the chains while you're there too... get them done out of the way.
  18. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?345855
  19. do you have any problems selecting gears and does it do it when you put the clutch in?
  20. well i think its best to start with the easy things first... you might be lucky, fingers crossed!!
  21. See this thread for how to take the tensioner off... http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?155363 i took mine off and gave the pulley a spin and it was propa rough feeling, then you know its that! lol, if it spins freely you're ok.
