  1. Hey mate... the only thing is those part numbers are specific to my engine code... yours may differ... where a part number has a D at the end that means thats like the 4th version... version a, b, c, d etc.... best bet is to get to a TPS with that list and your full engine code (can be found under the 2 fuel pipes on the left side of the block) they will be able to tell if yours vary from those numbers slightly or if they are the same, I didnt get the part number for the oil seal, just ask for it when you're there and they can grab it for you. This is a big job though... engine out. scary tim
  2. Here's some black vrs, some with TT comps and others just for a bit more inspiration... :)
  3. hello mate... why not run the vr for a while and see how it goes... when you get bored of it (which you wont ) then do the swap then... might as well make the most of it for a while though... North Essex?? You must be close to me!! You near colchester??? i hunt out some pics for you now...
  4. Id start with the simple and try spraying it with some WD40... worth a shot... might just be getting a little stuck.
  5. quote: Free Tracker installed Choose the date and time to suit you - if your car is stolen, one call to us and we are able to trace the vehicle, and liaise with the police for its return. The tracker also counts the miles that you drive against your forecast, if you drive less miles than you forecast then your premium will be reduced and if you drive more than you think it may be increased. You can check your miles daily on your personal web site to help keep track and put you in control of the costs.
  6. i dont think its pay as you go pete... im pretty sure it means u predict your milage and you can pay montly or yearly and they will refund depending on your actual milage... and the tracker being free etc... in the real world nothing is free.. they will make sure they cover those costs somehow im sure
  7. nobody cares... awwwww... even behind the tears of disappointment i still care!! :)
  8. well if we're talking ice cream rewards then you may well have yourself a deal :)
  9. its the only holiday ive had for 8 years and prob will be the last for a while yet... so i dont plan on doin too much walking.... exercise is for gays!!
  10. dont mind wherever is good really enjoyed sitting at the mini carousel last time but would like to try the one that involves the huge walk that no one seemed keen to do last time !! apart from that wherever you think would be good - be good to get some camera tips from you while we are there too errrrrr..... *-)
  11. haha, yeah the meeting point is about 5 mins from Jim, but a good location for 90% of the people that turned up last time! lol. I will go with the majority though.. if we get enough coming from further then may do it at the half way house.... will have to see how it goes, ill keep you updated.
  12. No problem mate... glad you're getting closer to getting it fixed. :)
  13. well the next meet will be towards the end of next month, but depending on who comes it may be held in Colchester.... all bar one car met at Colchester and headed down there... so we were thinkin if its the same people again we might as well stay in Colchester and save the hassle... I will start a new thread soon and we will see... :)
  14. im always right... Check this to be sure how to get back to your coilpack too...
  15. im pretty sure thats how it goes mate... thats what that doc says too...
  16. It really is simple, you just need to put a hex bolt into the belt tensioner and turn it til the belt slackens, then spin each thing and listen to it, it should all spin freely (except the crank) you really should become a premium member, there are loads of how to guides and documents to help you... you dont need a haynes manual, plus they dont actually do one for the vr6! lol. there is a Bentley manual but you'll be lucky to get a cheap one... just become premium and all your questions will be answered... :)
  17. Yeah i dont know why it says that. lol, as you're stood infront of the engine looking back at the car It goes... 1 3 5 2 4 6 doesnt it???
  18. well if i was you i wouldn't drive it, you dont want to run the risk of making it worse... if you're handy with tools then its really easy to have a look yourself... then once you know what is causing your problem you can take it to someone to fix it if you cant do it yourself... but if you dont feel confident enough then get it to a garage and at least you roughly know what to expect.... fingers crossed it will be something simple though...
  19. Look under the download section there under technical documents there is a vr6 engine overhaul document, its got all the info you need in there...
  20. haha, it comes from spending too much time on here... lol. but thanks, and i have replied in your other thread re the power loss...
  21. I think its to do with your alternator not getting enough charge, which would also be realeted to a problem with the whining... its all connected... there is obv a problem with one of the pulleys, whether its lose or the bearings are gone.... Best bet is to take the slack off the belt check each pulley separately to see if they spin smooth, and if there is any play in them... also check the belt itself to make sure its ok... im pretty sure all your problems stem from that somehow...
