Dave_ciw got a reaction from bennyk in Dave's Mystic Blue VR6 History & Future Build Thread R660 TUJ
Finally the part I enjoy! Started a full detail today in prep for upcoming events.
KKD Snow Foam. Two Bucket wash with BMD Atlantis shampoo. Detailing brushes for all nooks and crannies. Fallout remover for wheels and new daft White calipers! Power Rinse. Then dry. Then the work begins panel by panel. Clay Bar. Menzerna 400 if there is heavy marks. Followed by 2200, then finish with 4400. 50 Cal Filler applied with rotary and finishing pad. Poor boys exp sealant. Then a layer of BMD Morpheus wax. Finished with a layer of BMD Sirius Dark wax. Then a little Mad cow quick detailer to bring out the gloss.
CarPro DLux for all plastics and poor boys glass cleaner for the Windows. Also use poor boys tyre gel and wheel sealant. Not a nice job so get the helpers in for that one!!!
So this afternoon we managed one wing and one door . Back at it tomorrow.
Reflection shot
Cheers for popping in!

Almost bang on the money mate
If I remember right,
there 339cc at 3bar
394cc at 4bar
there EV6 as well, which are meant to atomise better than the original EV1.
What car there from I have no idea, I bought them off a guy who was recommended to me by a close friend.
The guy ultrasonicly cleans them, rebuilds them with new baskets, seals and caps, flow tests and matches them. Then sells them.

Oh yessssssss.
And every bump or bang could be a major issue. But for the last bit of the journey you regain confidence and the peddle hits the metal.

The exhaust had a little blow which turned out to be the sensor hole on the back of the cat which was quickly welded up.
The Air Con seemed to be trying to kick in but wasn't getting cold so I thought I'd push my luck and regas it, It only bloody works!! ️

Dave_ciw got a reaction from VR6CABBS in DVSA guidance on stretched tyres
To be honest in the interest of safety I have to agree to some extent. I had seriously stretched rubber on my Mullberry Highline and it seriously lacked grip. My current one had slightly stretched which was better although I just replaced them with 4 full size yokies and it sticks like a bitch now!
I think moderation and with the use of common sense a little stretch would be okay but sometimes people are just daft with it! I think really daft camber would be a riskier affair and in my opinion a lot shitter on the eyeballs!
Each to their own though!

UPDATE
So i have been getting back stuck into this build again.
Managed to get hold of pair of power steering pipes, which took me almost a month to get hold of! Not exactly rare parts either. But thanks to another forum member on here, i got one
Gave em a clean, sand and degrease. Then i coated them in underseal, not a show stopping finish but its presentable, durable and hopefully wont rust!

That's the least of my worries dude. I was more concerned about it turning the wheels and taking me home. I had visions of going off road on the A1M and sending a pic to you of me upside down on my roof.
Yes the bush was a mystery pal. How the f**k it ended up at the back of that pallet beats me.

Dave_ciw got a reaction from yinnyvr6 in How long have you owned your VR6?
Bought my first in 2007. Joined the club not long after. It was a more door dusky mauve with 250k Miles
I had a few others in between but don't have any pictures. Until I got onto my favourite one I have owned. The Dragon Green one!
Sold it on a whim like a right stupid muppet! Then tried to replace it a couple of months later with a Mullberry Highline more door!
This one just didn't come close. Had no time or love for this one unfortunately. So it got broke for parts as I had removed the engine and box to do some work and lost interest.
This led me onto my current whip which I had no intentions of buying but Rob had looked after the car so well and offered me at a bargain price. So I bought it. Fact is I have owned 7 personally and it would appear no matter what I buy, be it more powerful or better looking. Nothing I have drove is anywhere near as enjoyable as the 12v VR.
