I am 100% up for this! Be Bea great experience to have another vr6 to play with on track!

Great news fella we will see what the rest of the club members think!  If you are a facebook or social media man please share the link to this on the VR6 owners club page etc so as many people as possible see the opportunity!  It could be a fantastic day!

Snett is one of the fastest tracks in the uk, been there in my Scooby a number of years ago.... It was the hottest day on record at 30 something degrees, not really much good for caning a car about!

I'd like to say I'd be up for this but not sure the goddess would enjoy it very much! Then again! emoji848.png

Yes mate looks a good spot!  @VR6CABBS text saying he wouldn't put his through the stress of a track day either hahaha!  However there is nothing set in stone stating you have to murder your motor!  Some tasty straights on that track, nice to blow the cobwebs off in a legal environment!

    @Vag-hag @bennyk @michael5556 @VR6Pete I know this is for you folks!

  2. As the title suggests folks the club is interested in Hosting a track day! We are looking to hold it in or around October on a weekend this year at a UK based track pretty central Snetterton or something like.

We have had a few people putting their names down for shows recently and not show or pull out last minute for various reasons, so I ask please no lip service here if you put your name down please don't let the club down.  We want to gauge only serious interest here.

The track, dates etc are all variables that can be changed to whatever suits most.  I am in talks with a few day events organisers so will have more information for you with regards to cost etc.....

So let us know your thoughts folks

  3. Bit of Banter just for laughs!

Post a picture of you and your VR or another person and your VR in the rarest strangest place you can find!  Something different or by a street sign with your name on it or some shit like that!  Or yourself posing in fancy dress in front of the VR!  Lets make this a right laugh people!  Images can be old ones or new!  If you are going to do any NUDES please blur out the obscene parts !  If you are female and struggling with the blurring your nudes please feel free to PM them to any of the mods to do this on your behalf! ;) (Wee joke)

Lets have a few crazy entries!  Mine is still on the ramp in my garage with my interior scattered between my dining room and spare bedroom so I am out this month!

All images posted before the 20/07/2016 will be included and the one with the most likes by the 30th will win a 6 pack of beer courtesy of the VR6 Ownser Club!

Its just a bit of fun people lets get involved!!

    So come on

  4. Bought my first in 2007. Joined the club not long after. It was a more door dusky mauve with 250k Miles

I had a few others in between but don't have any pictures. Until I got onto my favourite one I have owned. The Dragon Green one!

Sold it on a whim like a right stupid muppet! Then tried to replace it a couple of months later with a Mullberry Highline more door!

This one just didn't come close. Had no time or love for this one unfortunately. So it got broke for parts as I had removed the engine and box to do some work and lost interest.

This led me onto my current whip which I had no intentions of buying but Rob had looked after the car so well and offered me at a bargain price. So I bought it. Fact is I have owned 7 personally and it would appear no matter what I buy, be it more powerful or better looking. Nothing I have drove is anywhere near as enjoyable as the 12v VR.

  5. I am on my 7th vr6. I have had a 4 motion in between but didn't find it half as good as the 12v. Just my opinion. I have gone from VR to 1.8t. Back to VR to Jag XKR back to VR to 330ci BMW and back to VR. This one I keep as a toy and I have had various other things alongside. MK5 Gti etc etc. However nothing makes me smile like driving my VR6. Don't expect it to handle like an early civic or be as quick as a scooby turbo and you will be fine lol

The car is worth more to you than anyone else. Your bills will be cut in half if you do the work yourself. Everything you've mentioned is DIY work and with the help of our members on here you will get by. What you need to realise is.... A VR6 is a money pit. Haha. You can never spend enough money on them but they are a car that will put a smile on your face. A big smile. A start would be to find some dry storage whilst you make your decision. Another good start would be to research every job needed and the tools to do that job and firstly check out the extent of any rust because bodywork isn't cheap if you want a good job done. emoji106.pngemoji106.png

I get you mate!  Yours is a ow miler with 50K requires hardly any work and is hardly ever driven!  Yet with the wheels, brake upgrades, paintwork, US spec bumpers etc etc it becomes a money pit.  A money pit through choice though.

To the OP do the work mate you won't be sorry and you will fall in love.  These are one of the easiest engines to work on and if you become a fully paid member at the bargain price it is you can download the workshop manual for the engine from this club along with tons of other extras!  I did a head gasket on mine using that manual with NO mechanic experience!

First job would be seats and carpet out, check the areas around drainage plugs for rot.  Then get on with your more serviceable parts.  The upper chain guides are very easily replaced if you have any chain noise along with the upper tensioner bolt.  These bolts use oil pressure which can drain when the car is unused.

Either way its a labour of love and there isn't many satin silver ones about..

Get it done and welcome to the club..

  7. Just finished reading through the thread.  Great work chap, clearly got got plenty of skills.

Have you had the car on a dyno?  I have just bought the same charger from Bealyboy.  If you get the chance to throw up a few more images of your MAF, Air Filter and pipework locations of the charger and maybe a video..

Great build and attention to detail.  Off to have a look at the daily build now.
