  9. Hi guys and girls, Hoping that some1 can help. Im in the process of fitting a 24v lump in the vento along with a mk4 dash so im using a complete loom out the mk4 4mo. My only problem is that i cannot find any wiring diagrams for the headlights and i need to cut the mk4 plugs off and fit the mk3 units. and the same with the rear end. A m8 has sent me a bentley maual pdf but i cant find anything on there to do with lights :-(......Any help would be greatly appreciated :-) Many thanks, Lee
  10. Yea m8 I know how you feel, I stripped mine to do haldex conversion but I keep finding little problems. Like yours my bumper mounts are rotten, my outer sills are dead the scuttle panel has some nice big holes in and need to cut rear window out as its rusted in 1 corner an leaks :-/. Like you said just do a lil at a time an try keep ur head up :-)
  11. Good luck dude, ur making progress thats the main thing :-). It may take a while but it will be worth it in the end when its finished. Keep up the good work bud :-)
  12. Ok so spent some of 2day wrestling with the wiring loom out the mk4. Got some of run around the bay but got fed up with it after a while so decided to try fitting the mk4 brake's. Had to fab a little 6mm plate to compensate for the difference between the mk3 and mk4 discs. Then had to re-drill the hub as the screws that hold the discs on had snapped off. Bolted it all together and im happy to sat it all fits, well I need to invest in some slightly longer bolts for the brake's as ive put the 6mm plate in there. Test fitted one of my 16" steelies and it fits a treat with no fouling of the ca
  13. Ok so navnt been down the unit for couple of months but will put up some recent pics and will hopefully get down there this wknd. Ok so my gearbox mount turned up courtesy of United Motorsport Refurbed my front axle's Started bolting everything back together (ignore the temp bolt through coily) Engine sat in until its ready for paint and so i can start rebuilding the front end Had to cut off my haldex bracket as i wasnt entirely happy with the angle the driveshafts would of been sat at. So my job for the next couple of wknds is to get that sorted and get her sat back on her own wheels :-)
  14. Was kinda hopin i wouldnt have to :-/..........cheers anyway dude :-)
  15. It doesnt line up with the hole with the spacer in :-/..........I have taken the spacer out to fit it temporarily but dont want to leave it out ??
  16. Hi guys, just a quick 1. I fitted my poly bushes at wknd and when i tried to refit my subframe the mounting holes through the rear bushes do not line up with the actual chassis holes. The only way i can get them to fit is to remove 1 of the little metal spacers that is supplied with the kit. I dont want to remove spacer as it stops bolt moving around. Any1 else had any dramas an overcame them ?? Cheers
  17. From what ive seen the phase 1 grille is extremely popular among the vento conversion crowd i have seen some go for £20/40/50/100 etc its depends entirely on what ur willing to pay for it, Supply and demand as they say if you think its to steep for the condition its in have a look round and try and find a cheaper alternative there are a few floating around.
  18. Ok so spent the day today cutting off the diff bracket and making a new one, I know it may seem a tad odd but i just wasnt completely happy with the other one so started again. I think the new one is alot better looking than the 1st attempt but i will let you decide Before: After: There is one bit that has annoyed me and that is one of the holes is slighty out of alignment as the steel moved on the pillar drill and i didnt notice until it was to late :-(. So that was most of my day today (this fabricating malarky is time consuming stuff). Oh got some new wheels for vivian for when she's done
  19. Cheers bud, When i started it seemed quite straight forward but how wrong was I :-/........ Well hopefully if i can get it done in time i may just have to harass you for a space lol
  20. Ok so i figured it was about i re-posted some bits that got deleted a while back when things all changed round. The project is still moving ahead slowly although i have nearly given up a few times as the more i do seems to create more work, But i shall push on. As she stands at the moment i am in the process of knocking up the haldex bracket (whether this is the one that stays is yet to be decided) the engine is sat in on an axle stand awaiting a nice shiny bracket from the good men over at United Motorsport. Progress is slow as free time is quite hard to come by at the moment as i have just g
  21. Loosen other side abit. The bushes dont have as much give as the standards so it is quite a tight fit but they will go if ur persistent.
  22. I think all will be fine when u replace the ABS pump. Similar problem to one on my mates golf.
  23. So what started as a nice simple rebuild an polybush has kinda spawned into a 24vT haldex conversion :-)... My progress so far has bin slow as will the whole project as i want to make sure things are done properly and I dont just bodge them. As it stands she is sat in my lock-up completely stripped of everything so I can address some welding that needs doing amongst other things. I have started to de-seam the bay ready for the smoothing sesh. I will post pics up when i can but like i said it will take me a while lol. Mk4 dash (just needs abit more tweaking) Start of the de-seaming 24v Goodne
  24. Hi guys/gals...... I have abit of an odd question, I stripped my 4mo to sell for spares and now i need to move it down to my unit. I cant get a trailer as all the 1s near me are booked so i replaced dash support and immob ring and tried to start her up. It starts but cuts out pretty much straight away, So im just wondering whether there is a way of getting it to run without having to put all the dash and everything back in ?? Any help would be appreciated as need to move it asap Cheers, Lee
