    Just to add plugs and leads have not been change for at least 1 year as long as iv owned.If this is it what would be a good combo bearing in mind i am about to shell out for a full body tidy up :^)

    I filled up 2 days ago on v power, i went out the next day i stupidly had a bit of fun with a evo 8 before the oil heated up properly. After that it hesitates every now and then when i pull away only for a second or two then jumps into life. Coil pack has been change 2 months ago, i thought it may be dodgy petrol? Any one now whats going on ?

    I had same prob turned out to be a loose wheel nut.check that before you do any thing.

    This has perished i think it may be a oil breather some thing. Does any one no the name for it or even better the vw part no aswell. Thanks

    it does not make the noise on full lock but knocks when i accelerate and mostly when im on the motor way and take my foot off the throtle and free wheel .

    I have a knocking noise coming from the front i have replaced the engine and gear box mounts so it must be the cv joint but not sure what side. is there a way of finding out if so how ? Also if it needs replacing is it worth getting a genuin vw one or gsf and what else will i need ie Track rod ????

    Just to conclude just had the fast road mount fitted and standard vr gear box and rear mounts adviced by darren and rob at gwerks and boy do they feel good.

    I never saw any arching so as it was so easy to take off the coil pack and do what i said earler i did and as i said it sorted it for about 3 months until i could afford a new pack. Just try it you have nothing to loose

    I really think its the coil pack have you inspected it for cracks?

    I noticed a strange clunk or knock when i came off the power sundly or ack on it. It has got worse overe the weekend so now when at about 50 mph if i take my foot off the power it makes the knocking noise repeatly until i touch the brake or excelerate. I think it may the cv but when i turn on full lock it makes very little nosie which is different. Any one had any thing like this ( really cant afford all these little problems)

    I am going to fit a front Vibra-Technics Engine Mount but need to do the others inc the gear box mount should i just use normal rubber once for these or should they all me Vibra-Technics ? Any words of wisdom?

    I had the same problem and couldn't see any arching, i took off the coil pack and put it on the radiator over night then put epoxy resin on all the cracks i could see. It sorted it for about 3 months but then started again so fitted a new coil pack yesterday £170 fron vw.Sweet. now just to develop a new problem boo hoo

    Thanks ill have a look 2moro i take it there is 3 inc gearbox. And then if its that ill have to be of shopping, that will take more money out of the body shop fund boo

    I am getting a judder when engaging 1st gear and reverse, when you engage 1st with hood up you can see movement on the engine which makes me think its the mounts but want to be sure ie engine or gear box.How can you tell, if it is this any recommendations for a 2.9 in a mk3. Thanks

    Just had a look at the rubbers on the rear and look in good nick.As for the front bearings am going to ring up vw tomoroe as have ordered strut mounting and not sure if that includes bearings?

    I finally bought some weitec hicon gt coilovers and am planning on fitting them next weekend. I ordered a pair of new top mounts from vw for the front and have prayed wd 40 on the nuts on the front and plan on doing the rear tomorro .Is there any thing else i should do so saturday goes as smoothly as possible?

    I have just have had my mk3 serviced i have been given a list of faults and was wondering where is best to buy the following? Vehicle speed sensor Lambda oxygen sensor Throttle possition sensor ABS wheel speed sensor rear right I should also point out it is a corrado vr6 engine, Hope some one can help thanks

    every time i do 100 my abs light comes on,I know i should not be doing this speed but my vr just begs for it.I have 280 disc with 4 pot billet brakes if this makes any difference. Not a majour but would just like to know why?

    You will need to take the seat out and if you have a multi meter while the seat is out check continuity of the element.Just trace the cable to the pins,did you get the guide to taking off the leather as i need to fix my element also on my seat not my wifes dag nam it lol
