  1. They are both the same wheel, just had different names for different markets to sound more exotic. In North America it was called the Santa Monica, for the European market they are known as Monte Carlo's.
  2. Look like Santa Monica wheels, came on the v6 4 motion I think
  3. Wish I had a garage to put the Golf to bed in!
  4. Its all in the details...steering wheel cowl trim Since I removed the steering wheel to give it a clean the trim behind the wheel wasn't fitting properly anymore due to a busted fitting, which made it fit like crap and bug me every time I looked at it The broken part which wouldn't allow that side of the trim to screw together (this had been poorly glued together previously) The replacement peice shown below shows what the fixing screw should go into With the replacement trim in place I carefully replaced the screws been mindful not to over tighten them, as it doesn't take muc
  5. Hmmm, for a couple of months i'd say run the engine up to operating temperature at least once a week and move it around your drive as much as you can to keep things moving.
  6. I had a quick browse on their main website and its available in a multitude of colours including clear. Found some on eBay and its not cheap...£27.75 for half a litre!
  7. Hmmm, I would of said por-15, seems to be very very good for this kind of thing.
  8. Lukey beat me to it, as long as the replacement is obd 2 it will drop straight in. Have you thought about doing some preventative maintenance whilst the engines out?
  9. I'll give it a shot to bring this back on topic!... So, what do we think, stainless manifold or decat?
  10. I always thought wonder wheels was a little heavy handed to be cleaning wheels with, been using Iron X to clean my wheels if they need a deep clean. Other wise the highline is looking great
  11. I have seen a lot of the mk2 boys use the 1.3 mount.
  12. When I did my engine mounts I did all of them. Used Febi/Bilstein parts from a place called AVS car parts, came to around £80 for all 3 of them. They weren't too difficult to change, but I did them the same time as the timing chains so already had a couple of them removed anyway.
  13. Look like some kind of Rieger side skirts Overall looks pretty tidy though
  14. Indeed, can be pot luck what an MOT tester says about hid's...
  15. I thought this was only the case if the car came fitted with these...could be wrong. Ran 4300k hid's on my e36 and never had a problem.
  16. Yup, me to!!! If you needed something soon, i'd head to a local car spares shop. Halfords sell a stud extractor set which might do it. I've got a set of Irwin bolt removers like these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IRWIN-5-Pce-BASE-Bolt-Grip-Nut-Remover-Set-10-16mm-Case-/390351175947?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5ae2be410b
  17. Rear calipers are held on with 8mm hex (allen) bolt heads. They can be an arse to get off, i've already rounded two of mine trying to remove them. Might need a bolt extractor to get them off
  18. Hopefully they can salvage it for you. Which cylinder did the gasket go on?
  19. Remember seeing this for sale a while back.....thought the previous owner did a top end rebuild on it himself. Looks tidy though mate
  20. Bummer mate at least you know what it is now. What about getting another engine, fixing this one and selling it on?
  21. Ah yes, that makes sense. Pays to use genuine parts sometimes! Don't envy you one bit pulling the dash in this weather.
  22. That's what I had before, really liked the smell of that!
