  2. Did you sign anything when you dropped the car off? And where in london are you? Id say cabrioman is right with an hour for removal of the mani. Whats wrong with the tensioner?

  4. Where are you? Cant remember where the drain tubes exit, If you open the boot check up by th roof to see if its there as the ends can close
  5. Check the usual MK4 stuff like 1)Broken rear springs at the bottom of the pig tail 2)Craking/Creaking Anti roll bar bushes 3)Faulty Cooling Fans!!! Put the A/C on and the fans should run constantly on slow speed, If the pulse on & off fast speed then new fans are needed and they are £££. (Only 150's not 130) 4)Clicking from Glovebox can be faulty heater positiong motor.   6. Im getting the bits together at the moment. Definatly the best option when you work out how much to rebuild the 12v. And its limitations. The rotrex bracket is defo different as its bolts on where the A/C compressor goes if you got no A/C Have you thought bout selling your charger and Buying a rotrex kit? Speak to Andy at storm was loads of help to me and can supply all the parts you need.

  10. Sorry for the No Show, Was working on a matescar and ended up taking age's as got wrong parts!!! Gutted i missed this as just got my fuel pump sorted and wanted to see if i could break the 250bhp mark. Will be up for the next one with a bit more notice Sorry again
  11. VrSick is right, Spoke to Andy at Storm and they realy do know there stuff! Will be taking my engine out in Jan and trying to source a low milage mk5 R32 lump! Just wish had gone down this route before i rebuilt my 12v. Cant wait already, And the Rotrex is also going on. Hoping to get around 350bhp, anything above this will be a bonus
  12. Sould be gapped correctly already, unless one has been dropped. Also could have caught a lead when removing?
  13. I had this problem with a mates VR, Parts had supplied me the wrong plugs. Worth checking they are the right ones. Defo gotta be platinum plugs. All the leads good?
  14. Did the cetering inserts from the wheel hubs stay on the old disc's? Plastic rings normaly that push into the hub of the wheel? If missing the wheel may not bolt up correctly. Is the wheel flush with the hub?

  17. Just read through your thraed and see that you are going to fit a Walbro unit. Just bought one of thses from Sytec-FSE, Spoke to Terry and they sold me a in tank pump that is good for 500bhp for £80. Had to modify the swirl pot slightly and use some of the old pump as a sleeve, but took me around 2hours to have everything done and no problems so far Their Number is 01784 493555

  19. The valve come on earlier models until EBD was introduced. All it does is allow extra braking pressure to the rear axle when weight is applied to it. Otherwise if the car was laden then it would have very poor braking. EBD is an electronic version of the unreliable Brake bias valve.
  20. Check the wiring loom between door to body. If you pull the rubber sleeve back there is normaly a few wires that have broken or breaking. If not the motor is your next step
  21. Well worth cleaning the throttle valve (and the ISV if OBD 1) then carry out basic settings on it. If OBD 1, Check the small plastic vacum unit near the ISV as can crack and cause this problem
