  1. Hi Rob, Thanks for the advice.. I'll get under it somtime this weekend. Hope it is somthing that simple
  2. Thanks Matt, Here is the 1min audio sample.. starts off well then I moved but you can still hear the tapping sound... its very obvious at start-up and defo doesn’t sound right. http://www.dacitsolutions.co.uk/paul/vr6noise.wav I refuse to believe its exhaust gas's.. I’ve had after market exhausts on a few cars and they have never had this effect. Thanks for the help so far. Paul
  3. I had a full de-cat Milltek system installed.. cant say I noticed much in power increase myself. Is it a subtle change or am I expecting to much? I also have a Pipercross induction.. I'll say this.. it sounds bloody awsome!
  4. Had a full de-cat milltek system installed a couple of months ago, since then I have had a loud clicking.. rattling type sound. It’s most noticeable on cold start in the morning when it’s idling at around 2500rpm, when its settles it’s not so loud but it remains very apparent when accelerating.. I think at the same rpm. A mate works for Colbournes and loves his VR6's so knows a lot about them, he checked it over, exhaust seems fine and is air tight. He said its probably exhaust gas's that normally you don’t hear due to the original system being far thicker and deadening the sound. Has
  5. I had this problem, previouse owner had actually removed the drain bung from the wing to put a live feed to his amp! I know him as he is a mate.. he never sussed out why he had a bog in the passenger front and rear footwell's.. took me 10mins to suss out. I just hope yours hasnt come disconected at the base where it joins the ruber bung as to access this is an absalute pig. I had to remove the glove box, pass air vent and pass dashboard speaker... so you can get both hands on it, one underneath where the glove bos was and then the other through the air vent or speaker hole. Then with a lot of
  6. yes it is that gromet, tbh you will still get plenty of water down the there in heavy rain, even if you extended the drain to go past.
  7. Hi Sharky Thanks for the reply. yes defo the sunroof drain pipe.. I have since done a form of fix 8-) Problem was the rubber grommet that is on the outside of the wing (behind the door) was missing and the pipe from the sunroof was connected to nothing and water was pouring into the foot well! • Fix was to cut a kettle lead and pull the three wires out. • leave one end with a bit of the flexi rubber that comes out to create a wedge effect. • Feed it down the drain hole in the sunroof, then pull through the hole in the wing. • Used a bit of silicone on the sunroof end to stop anything
  8. My Golf VR6 has a nice leak in the pass footwell.. the previous owner (a mate) thought he had solved it but seems he hasn’t.. no amount of silicone will fix a disconnected sunroof drain! Well after looking on the forum I have come to the conclusion its the sunroof drain. The water runs down the passenger side kick panel on the left next to the door and the carpet is soaked :-( Are there any guides or pictures of how to get to this part? I’m used to Jap cars that fall apart in your hands.. dead easy to get to stuff Thanks for any help Paul
