I have some fk coilovers on my vr6 that i bought used and they were already set up i think their about 40mm. I want to go lower now so what is the best way to loosen the thread just lube and leave for 24hrs before i attempt it? I believe these fks are prob about about 2years old but i have no idea when they were last adjusted so im hoping their not seized. I have the c spanners so im guessing its pretty straightforward no?

Jonnyboy82 replied to sadken's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
With that sort of money for a decent set of rims with tyres you want to be looking on ebay and the classifieds on here. -

VAG-COM DTC Fault codes Help.

I dont think there's anyone local who has one to lend me so its either buy a new one or search the classifieds or ebay for a throttle body. How much does a throttle position sensor cost? -
VAG-COM DTC Fault codes Help.
Jonnyboy82 replied to Jonnyboy82's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I have today cleaned the throttle body with isopryl in an attempt to see if the sticking problem would stop but no luck. Its a bit better but its still doing it. Ok so if its related how do i sort it and where do i start? -
VAG-COM DTC Fault codes Help.
Jonnyboy82 replied to Jonnyboy82's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I never had the car running i just had the ignition on whilst i done the vag-com scan. I posted this not too long ago but do you think this could be related? http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?319245.post -
Decided to to do a vag-com scan on my vr6 today and it threw up a few codes :-( So i looked at this thread http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?161678.post to find out what they mean and this what i have: 00281 Vehicle Speed Sensor - No Signal (G68) 00518 P0121 Throttle Position Sensor - Signal Out of Range (G69) Also check for loose ECM power relay. 00530 Throttle Position Sensor -G88 So my question is although i know what the codes mean how do i go about getting them cleared and sorting this out? Where is the vehicle speed sensor and where is the throttle position sens

I recently cleaned out the maf on my vr and since then it doesnt seem to be running right. Its running too fast, normally it idles at 8 but now idles at 10. Also as it idles faster when changing gear the revs dont drop they stay high. Does that make sense?
-
OK thanks. So the first one is an abs sensor and the second is called an exiter ring? I just need to know so i know what to order or hopefully someone on here is braking a vr6 with these parts :^) And also im guessing craggsy that i will need a new wheel bearing as once i replace the exiter ring the wheel bearing will need replacing as they never seem to come out in one piece.

Now they seem to be doing this alot more often. When i switch the hids on they take atleast 5 switches on and off to finally power up. Today one side did power up and the other didnt it took me about 8 attempts until they both powered together. -
Tbh i had a mate who used a carb/choke cleaner on his 8v and he said that after he cleaned the MAF it was sticking? Just wondered if there was anyone else has experienced this?
-
Could you not just use carb/choke cleaner as i need to do this and have a few cans lying around.

I can get them from an RH supplier in America but they will cost a fortune not only to ship but they only come in packs of ten and i think i need about 80. http://www.gmpperformance.com/index.cfm?PG=detail&PID=208731

Their real ones mate i need some short plastic ones. The ones on my rims are false just look real but are actually plastic and they just stick on.
-
Where can i buy some new split rim bolts for my RH AG CUPS?

I wouldnt say im having the same problem but as of lately sometimes when i power mine up only one side turns on then at other times neither of them turn on. I have hid's fitted too. I have found that if you turn them on and nothing happens turn them off wait a few seconds the try again and keep repeating untill they work. I dunno if you have tried this but it seems to work for me mate.
