  1. dlea i just looked and its about a 3 hour journey for us, 146 miles i think it said. Thats to the tesco meeting point
  2. Sounds like a plan mate! im j21 i think (haydock island) bout 5 mins away! As the goth says 2 or 3 might be abit late lol we will be camping at tesco if we go that time lol Good meeting place aswell tesco, plenty of cheap beers!! good times
  3. the key is not to feel pushed into getting off the line' date=' your reaction time isn't counted. special VR6OC camping is available on site thanks to Danny. Clean is all that is required. I'll put you on the reserves list as we have enough people signed up to fill the stand but some might not turn up ;-) [/quote'] ok cheers the goth, can you give more details to the camping matey? like do you need to get there at a certain time and is it on santa pod itself? (not the actual racetrack but the grounds before anybody laughs lol) Has a convoy been arranged for the people who are going saturday
  4. im the same potter, no traction until third, you got lsd?
  5. Its around 145-200 psi on a normal N/A motor (non turbo) But guess your running low compression so would be lower.. Just check that they are all close to each other. do the test and right them down on a bit of paper. if one or more are a lot lower than the others then you have a problem But as everyone said do a visual inspection on the coil pack first. all though there's a lot of stuff you can check before spending money the comp ratio is 9.0-1 i just asked the previous owner how do i do this test then?
  6. im going to this! hopefully the vrt will be running ok and il get chance to see how my new tyres do! Dont laugh aswell people im a santa pod strip virgin so dont hold your breath for any super quick times from me haha! I want to camp but where is the camping that is being planned is it on site or near by? Put my name down for attending if thats what your list is on page one if its for the vr6oc club stand then ill leave that for the regulars as my car is not worthy
  7. If you take the pipe off the turbo outlet (one that goes to the intercooler and then TB/ engine) Is there any oil in there? could be oil blowing past the oil seals in the turbo. If it is rings then i would expect smoke to get worse on boost Do a compression test mate, easy job and the gauge cost around £20 from halfords Try and work out what colour smoke you've got. Check your not loosing coolant ... will help narrow it down a bit VAG.com it to see if you have any sensers down (also check no wires are broken going to your lamber sencer well i was loosing coolant but i think that is now
  8. hey cabrioman, seems like your having the same problems as me! smoke, overfuelling, cutting power. spoke to you about this at ud09 aswel, that last post backing up your forum name there lol bang!
  9. I will have to take the car out for a hard drive to answer some of these questions, but the smoke is when i accelerate and very noticable when the turbo comes into play. i got told the air filter could do with a clean, and it is mounted in the common usual place, where the old airbox was. i had a coolant leak but i think that i have sorted this as i fitted a new radiator, i do have an oil leak but what vw doesnt lol! Been told that the sump or sump seal could do with being replaced as this is where the oil is coming from. where talking an oil stain the size of a 10 pence piece in 24/48 hours r
  10. im running c2 software so nothing cheap im getting the smoke on acceleration, noticing it alot more when turbo kicks in (i think)
  11. Any posts on how to get it off? or is it easy to do like just screws and bolts? how much did you pay for your new coilpack ?
  12. unburned fuel, this means plugs? im getting sick of trying to find the right plugs to put in this car :'(
  13. I did have a coolant leak from the radiator, i have just replaced the radiator last weekend. Plugs where changed for ngkbkr7e plugs and gapped down which was about a month ago. Coilpack has not been changed to my knowledge. I have heard it could be a piston ring or valve seal or stem
  14. ive got a vr turbo, they are NOT reliable but when you put your foot down they are deffo worth it lol. I have had many things go, 1st day i got mine, driving it home, boom! thought wtf was that! pulled over, everything looked ok.. pulled away and put my foot down, was ok up until it was meant to boost... nothing! just dead! pulled over again but could not see what was wrong, drove it home in disbelief and felt like crying myself to sleep that night lol. popped the bonnet in daylight and found that the samco hose which is connected to the boost pipe from the turbo had blown off. Stuck a jubile
  15. nice one ben, any idea about the smoke? anybody?
  16. I have noticed that i am getting alot of exhaust smoke when i put my foot down in the car. Its not like a big black cloud behind me, not that extreme, looks more whitey i think. Also found that the top right plug and bottom right plug (as you look at the engine) are black, now this doesnt seem to be oil i dont think, more carbon. also had problems with the power cutting and bucking every now and again when i put my foot down. Anybody got any ideas of what it is and how it can be solved. I have got a fast car sat outside and i am sh*t scared of putting my foot down incase it blows up then itll
  17. cabrioman needs a dell:p did you manage to sort the laptop out matey?
  18. yup mine are like this, they are suppose to be like that i got told, apparently the gap alters in size when you turn the steering wheel. I have h and r coilovers and dont have a problem
  19. i know think il have to do that, needs a good polish though, only polished it once since i got it lol. What do you mean by meeting anyone off site mike?
  20. i cant wait for this, to see what people have been building over the winter! Is there no convoy?
  21. ok so im going down to ultimate dubs this sunday, not to show my car just to go for the day out and have a look at some top cars. Obviously i dont want to be pulling up in a dirty dull mk3 so i want the car looking tidy. I usually just take it to the jet wash once a weekend as i only drive it mainly at the weekend so thats all it needs. But i am busy all week and i have got a spare 4 hours saturday morning to clean the car myself, but then going to be driving it to ultimate dubs so its just going to get dirty again So.... what do you lot recon i do??!!
  22. is the problem visable or did u find it through vagcom?
