    yes bodge it is a nightmare and very expensive because i have to pay other people to do things! i need some lessons lol! the compressor outlet for oil?? :s i have just put a pic up of where i have seen oil leaking from going to clean the air filter asap aswel as it needs a clean' date=' any ideas of whats best to clean them with? i dont know anybody local who has vagcom and dont fancy paying hundreds for it as i dont have the spare cash at the mo due to holidays.     good times! where is your garage? how much would it cost to vag com and have comp test or how much just for vag com?

    are the arp bolts easy to fit jim? like is it basically old out new in, 10 min job or is it strip the engine?

    ignore all the salt i havent got round to cleaning the engine yet

    this is the side of the engine that has a slight oil leak, if you look just about the air filter you will see it

    cheers maiden, right i have took some pictures of were i have seen oil seeping from i will upload them shortly. just put my foot down on the way home and couldnt see any smoke as i didnt have anyone to look yet. when i stopped at the lights, it idles crap, where its ment to be at 800rpm on tick over it goes 800-600-800-600 etc then every so often drops down to 400 and picks back up before it cuts out

    might sound daft but have you checked the power steering fluid and is the power steering working ok? i was getting a whining noise and it was the power steering

    have drivin it with the roof down and wearin my bannana man suit did get some laughs claps and a blue flashing light lol classic! as for the weather i hope it holds like it has done today could do with a nice dry strip, do they put some sort of glue on the track or something like that or is that balls?

    cheers jim! lol, now i am poo-ing it just going to take my time until i get it sorted. Ive found oil slowly seeping from a joint in the engine il try and get a pic up 2night of it. I think its between the block and bottom end but i aint a mecanic and not sure if thats the right sections

    i did do but just had the radiator changed so need to wait a while about this to see if the water drops over the next week or so, so whats the chances of it blowing up lol?

    thanks jim ill have a look when i get in. If its the head gasket then wouldnt the car be overheating?

    lol, u must have spent a fair bit of money on cleaning stuff aswel! How many hours did that take you? I have attempted to do the megs 3 stage thing a couple of times but i do the paint cleaner step 1 then get bored or it starts to rain! Going to give it another go when the whether permits

    i dont think il be getting any they dont look very strong. Cant see how these would cope round tight corners as there is no side wall :s

    i know thanks for the replies so far people! Good post from bodge there about comp testing aswel! Going to get this done at the weekend because when i get home through the week its dark. How much is a coil pack? Hope the rings havent gone, heard its expensive to replace the rings. Do you guys think that a cracked coil can cause smoke?

    gunna have to get some launch practice in beforehand i think! previous owner won best 1/4 mile and 0-60 in this car last year at gti international in its catagory, so the car has the potential!
