  2. I have a vr6 turbo and when i read about cars with turbos i always hear about MAF and MAF clamps when things go wrong. I have been having a problem with my car running rich and miss firing but i wont go into that because i have already started a thread on this the other day :-d I would like to know... What is a maf and what is a maf clamp?, What do they both do?, where do i find it?, How do i clean it or replace it if its faulty and are there any signs of them being faulty? Are they a standard item on the car or do they get added by people who turbo there cars? Cheers in advance people! A

  5. Didnt know police carried emission testing kit. ive got a decat pipe on mine and you cant half tell lol!
  6. Id give it a good clean. Have a look in the detailed section of the forum to see whats best for cleaning. Should go and get yourself some meguires cleaning goodies. Get meguires clay bar, and the meguires 3 stage cleaning kit, comes with paint cleaner, wax and polish (all sold seperatly) this is what i do when i get a new car, makes it look and feel new !
  7. I like the ibiza its nice and tidy and the paint is nice and bright considering its red which is the hardest colour to keep on top of i think! But i must say that the white edition30 golf is my fave! i want a white mk5 gti i love the honeycomb grille and they look the buisness in white!
  8. Ehy cant you say the recommended one that you have used? I think going off this i will go for the NGK KR8AI as mine has lowered compression. What do you guys think? and does anyone else have any recommendations to my problem? I have NGK BKR7E would these be ok if i gapped them down to 0.025''???

  10. Well i have got NGK BKR7E 's in at the minute i changed the vr6 ones for these as these where already in it. Dont want it to go ka booom lol!! they have not been gapped because i was told these just go straight in ( the bkr7e) ?? would it be worth forking out for a scan?
  11. RIght people, got the vr turbo serviced last month and when i got it back it was running crap. When i put my foot down it like stutters when its boosting, mainly in 1st and 2nd or higher rev range. I can put my foot down in 1st gear then about 3500 4000 rpm, it hesitates and splutters, sort of like its over fuelling. It was fine before the service. Turned out my mate had put vr6 plugs in it so got these changed for NGK BKR7E which are recommended for this and what the previous owner had it running on. Put 5w40 oil in as recommended by previous owner. What could it be guys? a coinsidence that
  12. Dont know if you have solved this problem mate but use NGK BKR7E. I had this problem and fitted these plugs. What happened was i got the car and serviced it after a month or so and changed the plugs and got vr6 plugs for it not realising it was not running on vr6 plugs due to temperatures. I got in touch with the previous owner and he told me what he used and that he had tried a few spark plugs and those are the best he has used. Fitted them and hey presto problem solved.   14. So what you saying, like leave the clutch in abit for a second once the light turns green? wouldnt that burn the clutch out? im an amateur at launch control in a powerful car, planning on going to santa pod and bruntingthorpe this year in the vrt you see so after alot of advice lol

  17. Just been looking around the forum and didnt see any subjects about driving skills and techniques! So why dont we start one! Be good to know how to get the power down on the strip and getting faster times just from better driving! Tell us how you get from start to finish to get show winning times lol. Any tips on fast road driving (where its legal of course) or track driving? My biggest downfall to the vr turbo is i dont really know how to control the wheel spin and loose valuble seconds. The previous owner could get the power down in the wet better than i can in the dry! SO LETS SEE WHAT YO
