  4. well i wouldnt be able to complete such a task lol! fair play to ya bud for getting it done. I wouldnt mind buying a syncro and turbo'ing it, but they're rare as rocking horse poop

  6. Not sure if you have mentioned or been asked thus but how much did it cost or how much does it cost to convert to 4wd?
  7. That would just be harsh ian lol, funny.... But harsh

  11. Pmsl!!!! That's one dosey stupid girl, think the endings funny how 10 minutes after arguing with you she's like o shit sorry wrong person I'm pissed.. Phff yeah alright love
  12. spray a fair bit on it then leave it to dry, have a look at at see what it looks like then repeat. your better off not soaking it as only so much will clean it and the rest will just run off it, so just keep repeating the process, thats what i do anyway never failed for me
  13. Like i said mate it can be alot of things, there are a few sensors that could cause this i think there are about 3 or 4 sensors that can cause it that are common. Really you could do with it being scanned with vagcom it would make life alot easier for yourself
  14. is it not is001 or is002 something like that, if so then its just service reminders 001 is minor 002 is major. Go to maplins and get their electrical contact cleaner, halfords do it too but they dont stock much of it. if your car is na then i cant see heat being a problem really that its going to damage the coilpack
  15. Tony have you enquired about uprated driveshafts mate? I went through a phase of breaking them like on a monthly basis and heard that they can cost up to 1k each! i nearly shit myself lol. Luckily this ones holding up 18 months later
  16. no mate im not really into the build thread thing lol. I love it but its up for sale sometime next month when the tax/mot is up and been renewed. ps, the darker it is when you search for sparks under the bonnet, the easier it will make it to find any lol. Post up what you find, if there is no spark then we will go from there. There are plenty of petrol heads/mechanics on here who will give you good suggestions too mate
  17. did you touch the maf? hope you didnt spray wd40 on it mate you will have wrecked it, chances are made it 10 times worse
  18. rob, make sure the maf is plugged in the right way, true story now. My mate whos a mechanic bought a vr6 about 4 months ago for 800 quid and took it straight off the road to respray it and everything else, he started getting starting problems and misfiring problems and lost interest and just wanted rid of it, another mate of ours bought it off him for 600 (fresh out the painters) he did some fiddling around to see what the misfire was, turned out the maf was on the wrong way! sounds very similar to your problem worth a try, could be so many things though mate, id change the plugs, make sure th
  19. Calico do you think there is a good chance that buying the 2 recommendations of yours will stop the problem im having from happening? because it comes to a few hundred quid, im willing to buy the stuff if it will be better for my car
  20. When it goes dark later on tonight, pop the bonnet and start the car, look for any sparks around the coilpack etc for starters
  21. Because I wasn't ready to sell it after I'd just spent a grand rebuilding the engine lol
  22. id keep it mate... you're gonna stuggle to sell it.... paperwork wise
  23. I know but tbh they are companies who do just detailing and will have insurance costs and workplace costs which will bring their prices up. I suppose it depends on what kind of products you use, because most meguirs stuff like their polish and wax quick detailer etc lasts a long time ( 6 times round a car) so say you only need to get the stuff once in a while not for every job, you would be walking away with about 50 quid anyway. Shampoo isn't that expensive and lasts a very long time and that's two steps, drying isn't using anything but a chammy or waffle towel which you can use for a long ti
  24. The picture from behind after you have detailed it is a big selling point I think, I'd probably be willing to pay around 60 pounds for option 2 maybe I'm a cheapskate I don't know lol. Why don't you say you will clean someones car for entrance into the show and a crate, then you can branch out nationwide lol
