    ip im just a little confused here you quote the relay driver as part no(1H0711202A) and the driver (1J0711256). but when i used vag cat the relay driver shows as part 1J0711256 and the driver as 1H0711188B and the part no 1H0711202A shows up as a nut square can you please check this out when you get some time and just help meto clear things out thanx for your help

    does anyone have any experiance with this item? i am considering buying this for my vr to help get rid o the gearbox slop i am currently experiancing (ever since my slave and master cyliners let go and got replaced i have gained excess gearchange slop) and also making the shift a bit sportier (i hate long throws generally and the vr isnt exactly a short shift in the first place) i understand it replaces the weak plastic original part which develps slack after time so im thinking is this the reason why i have lost precision in comparison to before can anyone tell me does it fir on the gearbox s

    i think i may give this a go too the arb work went well... the front was going well untill it came to getting the bushes in for the new one. one of the bushes went in nicely, but the second one just would not want to go in under the retaining clip. the rear wasnt bad either, i found the clamps supllied were just a little short of making the job easy, but some swearing soon cured that. also found that i had to drop the dampers to get the lower bolts (on the suspension arm) to clear the exhaust and fuel tank, so whilst i was there i changed the rear top mounts

    i put out a post the other day on another section and i wa so pleased with the response that i thought i would put out another my rear engine mount is leaking, so it needs changing, the others arent exactly mint either so i thought whilst its getting done i should look at replacing the others what i want to know weather this is a job i can do on my drive with a friend or does it need to be left at the garage ...so id appreciate if someone experianced could make a step by step step on how to go about changing all 3 thanx in advance for any help

    can someone experianced please run me through a step by step guide on how to change my front top mounts also a parts list would be good - i will be ordering the parts from vw so ekta codes would be top! i know i obviously need the rubber top mounts, but which bearing bits etc do i need thanx in advance

    ive got the exact same problem ..just a little while ago my slave and master cylidner gave in ..after relacing them the gearbox went all sloppy ..ive traced it back to the selector but i dont know what t is from there ..dont suppose you could run through what you did with a few pics please mate

    how hard was it to fit the rest of the bushes as im purchasing the kit but trying to decide weather to attempt this my self i dont have access to a ramp either and its always piss taking working under a low car

    hopefully ill have an answer for you tomo phat vr my cousin does have all the vagcom stuff n hes hooked it up for me before but he lives quite a distance n is always working i think ill have to bug him tomo and ask him what exactly did he do to to connect up his vagcom to my car

    btw my car is a 93 l plate obd1 but i swear the diagnostic port is just that normal 16 pin thing, not the 2x2 style does that sound possible?

    ok thanx for all the info, im jus weighing out the cost this month as ive seen a few other bits im in need of too what are the alternative to ross tech, at the end of the say its just an electronic cable, i cant see why it shoudl cost so much

    i want to buy a vagcom cable and the required software having a bit of trouble finding out which one i need my cars an obd1 so i want to get the right one any suggestions?

    dad had a set of 16s 7.5j wide on the golf they had 215 40 16s - bridgestone s02 (back in the day) - did look quite cool to be honest oh and it handled awesome - might have just been his driving though

    4gt 2 mention ... also depends a lot on the offset

    lol not without some big arch mods ...not having ur suspension too low ... and rolled arches ...even then youl get lots of rubbing ..so really you need to flare you arches
