i think it would be interesting to bring this grey area out into the light... so how about a couple of details too: when you fitted it? who did the work? how long it took to do the work? was it worth the effort? lol maybe a simple spec up.. (e.g lsd or not? final drive? drive shafts? mounts? etc)

what i found quite likable about the stealth t04s hybrid was its ability that power output at quite a low level of boost (9psi if i remember correctly) with the rhd drive turbo mani's available (spa or atp), neither come with a divided inlet entrance, so the obvious choice on the turbo hot side would be to have an undivided t4 hot side.... - or is thee any benefit of having a divided turbo hot side in combination with those exhaust manifolds mentioned?

is thr 60-1 the same as a t04s? (what stealth prove for their set up) or do i have my models mixed up here

kev can i ask, are those kumho's any good at putting down the kind of power your are running? ps - those brake! - they are like the cheryl tweedy of brakes! they would get it!
-
thats a seriously spec-d car you have listed there

may want to look at holset hx35 - i looked into them a while ago, i think it would probably suit the vr engine a little better than the hx40 as by the time you make some proper boost you would not really have enough of a rev range left to sustain it and enjoy it

ive heard oif people using r32 oil coolers on a 12v vr6 ...i dont know how much truth is behind this but its always worth futher investigation

what drive shaft options if wanting to fit 02M gearbox?
lowvr replied to lowvr's topic in Engine Tuning
excellent, that makes a lot of sense now I guess the next step to have have the gearbox vrT friendly would be: - lsd £600 - change to longer final drive (not sure of cost of that item) - and the rebuild for that - all depends where you do that or weather you do it yourself ( i dont think im ready for gearbox diy work yet) by then end of that you could a gearbox that would theoretically capable of being to withstand mroe power than you need - i think i need to consider this - and if ii do probably factor in a short shift now that i can't live without it -

you do have a a point there kev whilst you're can i ask you one more question then: i was on the corrado-net where the stealth racing talks goign on at the moment and notied an interesting post from you mentioning recasing an 02m into an 02a...i didint realise this was possible as didint realise it woudl physically fit can you please elabortate a bit and give me todays dose of education thanx again! -
as title says really, as i cant find a definitive answer obvious place to look is drive shaft shop and pay $$$$$ so wondering what spec is required and weather there are more cost efficient alternatives

i was thinking about asking the same question!

can anyone help me confirm this: i have currently an obd1 coilpack car - 94 with these looms: http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/GO/1994/121/57/1281407/ http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/GO/1994/121/57/1283617/ but an obd 2 car has: http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/GO/1997/184/57/2248955/ http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/GO/1997/184/57/2250528/ only the last loom described as the harness for engine compartment seems different to me, is that the only one i need?

easiest method to remove and reinstall alternator?
lowvr replied to lowvr's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
its nto ever been taken off so im guessing it will be stuck on but it looks liek it will foul the chassis leg on the way out so i though i would need to raise the engine but wasn't sure if there was a simpler method -
my box is fine - infact its supernice lol nice low miles etc Im builind my vr turbo in June and am getting all the bits into place - the engine side of things i think i have handled now, and i do understand if i dont want to be blowing up drivetrain parts i need a turbo that doesnt spool up too early but i am slightly worried with the fact that this is my only car, my daily car and as much care as i do give it - i truely give it a hard life on the road. don't get me wrong; i dont drive it like a little chav who just got his licence but i do push the car very hard and always like to join into

hmm boxes are pricey hey! any suggestiosn on where to get the rebuild parts from from or is it essential they are from the stealers
-
can anyone from experience or from beign in the trade say approximately how much it would cost to have an 02a box rebuilt and lsd installed and is there anyone on the forum who knows what they are doing and would want to take on such a job ...there maybe a group buy going so they could potentially have a few boxes to rebuild if they want to sort out a good price
-
top stuff guys! so thats the parts list sorted for this side of things: obd2 ecu obd2 throttle body obd2 engine harness new ob2 lambda probe i can use my obd1 maf as it is the 6 pin version short runner mani (so no need for the obd 2 one) c2 turbo software with the immob defeat and then the usuall stuff i will defo be going to c2 for the software and maybe a few other other little bits too so i will be in touch soon thanx again guys
