    AFAIK you shouldn't need to cut a section out of the head for OBD2 cars, only OBD1. I had to cut a bit off mine when I trial fitted my old Rotrex kit.

    VRT Sound

    Hi guys, Bit of a strange question I'll admint: I've been running my Stealth Racing VRT since April/May last year without any problems. It's got a 2.5" exhaust with 2 silencers and not cat, and a 4" intake with the original inlet manifold. The car is ballistic, but my problem is that really miss the VR induction roar. Is there any way to change or get some induction sound on a VRT? After 9 months of daily use, it just seems so bland in comparison! Any ideas would be great....

    I'd stick some mesh on there if I were you. I think by reducing the turbulence in the MAF, the airflow reading that it takes is more representative of the amount actually going in. If that makes sense?

    So I just need a CP ecu, and 4 pin MAF? I don't need to change engine wiring harness, lambda plug or add an immobiliser ring or anything?

    Has anyone changed from a 6 Pin to a 4 pin MAF on an OBD1 car? I think my car would run a lot better with a 4" housing (currently running 0.9 bar). From what I know, later VR Corrados got the 4 pin MAF with the CP ECU (as well as Immobiliser and different Lambda). Having searched around Vortex, I found some threads saying you could just swap the MAFs and wire up as follows: OBD1 6 Pin MAF 4 Pin MK3 Style MAF Pin 1 ------(Brown/Yellow) ----------------> Pin 1 (Ground) Pin 2 ------(Brown/Blue) ------------------> Pin 2 (Signal Ground) Pin 3 ------(Red)

    I think I'm going to have to pull out of running. I'm only going to be picking my car up on Thursday at the earliest from having the Turbo conversion, so seems a bit silly to run again a few days later on the same rollers! Will hopefully drive over and say hello though!

    I've been running 8.5:1 compression for the last year and its been fine, so no wirries there. I think ARP head bolts are about the same cost as new VW ones, so makes sense to use them in the first place IMO. Good luck!

    Great work as usual Kev! Would love to get rid of all that ISV pipework one day. I take it you need a standalone like DTA to get this running on a 12V though.

    I put my name down on the Corrado forum, but might as well add it here too Will be good to meet some peoples from the VR6OC I think there's a few VRTs from the Corrado forum attending so should be fun.

    Check the thread on the-corrado.net for info about these cams and remap. Dave and Graham (the D and the G) are both longstanding members. Seems like a really good uk designed alternative to the usual 263 route.

    Where is the best place to vent to? Do people just stick the filter on the end of the rocker cover outlet, or run a hose somewhere with a filter attached to the end/?

    Hi, I have a pretty significant amount of oil leaking from here: It seems to run the length of the block, but I've no idea what it's there for. Could it be a safety thing incase you put too much oil in? The block directly above and around it is completely dry btw and I've witnessed it coming out of here on start up. Help please!
