  5. 5 batteries !?Surly adding a split charger and some hi-power capacitor should do the trick, are they deep cycle batteries?
  6. Are you using a proper spk plug socket on an extention bar? there is a slight off set there, you should still get enough clearence to the plug without having to remove anything else.
  7. GSF do 80c thermostate (gsf part no: 17646), check it has 80c stamp on it.You also need an O ring thermo gasket too.
  8. Nice looking car amigo, welcome to the site.
  9. The passive immobiliser has cut in,you'd need to arm and disarm the clliford before firing the car up,also there should be an override switch somewhere in the car.........welcome back to VR

  13. I would go for the 4 pots with the 288 disc,it offers greater clamping force, less unspring wieght (compeares to the TT 312 ) aids better handling and still able to use the 15" wheels.
  14. So how much will it cost to Tax the vr6 in 2009 ?
  15. Nice,love the 15" with Yoko look .
  16. check the seating of the spring ,are they located properly on the plates ? if someone is stupid enough to fit non rated springs for the vr it is not unusual for them to Mess up the seating (location) of the springs as well . The weight distrubution of the gti and vr engine are different and they wear differently. Since the shocks were not operating at the correct height due to the lower springs,I'd take the springs off to check the condition of the shocks before fitment.
  17. I think the previous owner fitted lower springs thats not meant for the vr. http://www.venommotorsport.com/shop/Suspension/SuspensionKits/Koni/Equipped/index.html
  18. I didn't think you can get 60mm springs for the Koni sport kit ,I think they only come at 25-30mm due to the weight of the engine, unless the previous owner used springs that are not meant for the VR or you have a GTI kit .
  19. Nice guide, might even qualify for "Write a guide scheme" ?
