  3. here u go: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?262305.10#post_275685 Seems to be a problem on the vrs;).
  4. Go for the hint on the ignitionswitch! Iv seen this problen on vrs and many other mk3s. Mine even does this some times. I would try to remove the imobiliser IF its not the ignitionswitch.
  5. Im using the CHEAP t04b garret turbo. Its great . with ar63 exhaust (i think) Its at full boost at 3800 rpms and goes strong all the way at 8-9 psi. Now going to boost 14-17 psi so lets see how it holds up . According to atpturbo.com it should be able to give 450 ish hp. So to answer your question, buy a cheap garret t4 turbo. If u want earlier spoolup just buy a t3/t4 hybrid, that wont be able to do 450 hp tough. (you will want more boost;))
  6. ok, think i located it in the "diy" changing chains and tensioners on vw vortex. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1264409 On nr 32. Thanks for the info:).
  7. Ok, just had to ask since I have done a headgasket change. (dropped the comp to 8.5) I got cylinnder 1 to TDC. Checked the timing here: Made my own cam tool and slotted inn. Installed the gasket and spacer. Checked the timing on the crank pulley again. Wrapped the chain around the front camgear (so there was no slack) and then over the rear one. Cams where still where they should be. My question is: If the cams are slotted into place, AND the crank pulley is timed, AND there is no slack on the opposite side of the chain tensioner. Is the car now timed? Thanks:).
  8. For the last few days me and my m8 Andreas have been in the garage 24/7. We started with the removal of the gearbox. We followed the bentley manual for this. Startengine out The block looks ok, should have been painted, but thats for next year. Gonna clean and doublecheck the oil heatchanger so it doesnt leak anymore. Had to lift the driveshaft off to get the gearbox to slide out. To do this you have to lift and tilt the engine to the left. . . . . The gearbox is free . All the bolts that holds the box had to come off. these are big and tight, the one on the back is the worst. I fou
  9. this may sound stupid but do u have any fuel on the car . Are all the important fuses still working?
  10. Ok, so how do I clean my transmission? My best guess is degreaser and high pressure water. Like the power of a kercher. Things not to do would be to spray where the gearlink, thowout bearing and diff is. If this sounds wrong then shout out
  11. Its not all about how long it stays clean. When detailing your car your making it more resistant to weather as the paint is smooth and hard.

  13. Is your thermostat working? MY went and the same things happened to me. Maybee its the same problem and nothing to do with electric at all?!?!?! When your car is warm. . . check that both radiator coolanthoses are hot. If not then your thermostat is shot!
  14. I had 16s but needed to get the car up. . . . oslo has shitty roads so got me some 17" .
  15. Ok, will do. I could have went the other way and de locked my trunklid, but I wanted this one so will try to make it fit and look good. Gonna try to combine it with a debadging and de wipered trunk.
  16. Hmmm, maybe I should have checked around a little. . . . So the advise is to fit it before painting it then?!
