I think you will find most recommend the Schimmel 263 cams for the FI route. Shame that you just got it mapped at Storm, as you will need to fork out on another remap to get the most out of them.

Hi Mason, would phone you but haven't got your number. I have been doing some research and you can buy a kit for £89.00 from TSR PERFORMANCE. I am sure there are other places that sell them but have been unable to find them. I would almost guarentee Stealth would be able to help too.

Cams were approx £200 in a group buy from this forum a while back when the pound was strong vs the dollar. Re-map and installation will be £600 at RGS Motorsport, I think Stealth will do it for less but after I accounted for the petrol milage there and back I decided RGS would be better for me. The things I am interested in now are 6 branch exhaust manifolds. They are claiming 10% power increases which would be a nice 15+ hp for around the £200 mark. Probably not much use to you though if you fancy the turbo option. I have talked myself around to supercharger now, finance permitting.

Well hopefully in the next month or so I will be gettting my 263s installed. The guy at the garage says he will do before and after plots so hopefully I can show some real data regarding this. And bear in mind, my car has only a panel filter in the box and a magnex exhaust so is pretty much standard.

Well the 263 shricks have seen up to 26hp and +20lb/ft on a normally aspirated VR6, nice smooth idle. So I would reckon 5hp extimate is a bit low. If you look at an 8psi rotrex installation costing around £4k and gaining +100hp that is £100 per 2.5hp gained. 263 shricks +20hp approx £600 bought and mapped comes out around 3.5hp per £100. I would assume that you will get similar hp per £100 so are definately worth it relatively speaking.

Phat VR6, what are you calling lower boost <14PSi ? Just curious as compression lowering is my next step.

By changing the pulley you will increase the boost therefore you will need to remap the ECU as it will not be able to compensate on its own. NS racing, Stealth or Storm should be able to sort you out a belt.

Okay, simple question but what exactly does everyone mean by throttle reponse with regards to forced induction? Does it simply mean that the FI source produces the boost a bit later in the rev range making it feel delayed when the run from charger to TB is long ? And how difference in response we really talking lets say between a charger to TB direct setup and charger through FMIC around the engine bay into the TB ?

Thanks for you help m8, they are in and sorted. Managed to lower the beam but cannot for the life of me decide if I am actually moving the beam left/right so will take to an MOT place tomorrow and get them to do it I think. BTW, the LHD/RHD lever, what exactly does it do ? Does it just shield off part of the beam ?

How about the dipped beam, should it comeon dimly when the sidelights are on ?

Just bought some of these, wired them up, but now I am not so sure if I have wired them up right. Help please. Which is the dipped beam ? The one with the large lens on it (middle one) or the one with the reflector (left) ? I also get the left lamp on dimly when I put the side lights on in addition to the angel eye lamps. For example am I trying to achieve Side lights - Just angel eyes Dipped Beam - Angel Eyes and Middle lamp on. Main/High Beam - Angel Eyes, Middle and Left.

NOS is also laughing gas and can be used as a mild anaesthetic, ie pain relief when in labour etc. Totally off the IP topic but hey this is supposed to be an educational website
