  1. we are modifying a engine bar that u use to suspend the engine when u take the gbox out . should not be any problems holding it in the rollers with 4 ratchet straps pulling down in the inner wings aparantly i have been told the rollers will read over 400 if u can strap a car in but hopfully 2morrow we will see jim im going for over 400 cos u will turn the boost up lol dont forget vagcom
  2. my phone contract runs out i was just wondering if any one has a iphone to start with and what they are like . secondly my pioneer headunit can control myipod just wondered if anyone knows if it would work on the iphone as it would save me taking a phone and a ipod with me when im out in my car
  3. hi people im still making lower front braces that fit rather than than the ebay ones that dont .   4. sounds like u need to have the alignment checked fella the camber being out will affect the car pulling it should also show up if there is something bent £45 is not a bad price i would say with adjustments .
  5. trust me its not much easyer when u are a mechanic some days . maybe people can appreciate why it cost so much to have a service and u didn't even have the wheels off u what till u spend half an hour trying to get one wheel of them off because the last bloke to look at the car didn't know how to use a drop of copper lube .
  6. gsf part number SB95009 SPARKPLUG-FR8LDC G3 VR6 1/92 >12/97 2.80 each or they do these part nunber SB90130 SPARKPLUG-F5DP0R G3 2.8 VR6 AAA Eng. 6.95 each im not sure what the difference is but when i worked at vw im sure they made a long life plug so maybe thats it or it could be that the more expenscive ones are bosh super 4s
  7. sorry i have not been about this year what with work and fitting a kitchen this year has gone by so fast . Good news though im more or less done with the house for a while so i can start doing the vento i bought after the last one got writen off ,so fingers crossed and new years resolutions kept up towards the middle / end of the year i should be coming to the shows again .   8. we are going to get the rollers gritted and a few other bits sorted so we can read boost presures and maybe get a lambda line on the graph then i will try and sort another day out mind i dont think it will be quite as cheep as this one . unless we get a lota cars there .
  9. sounds like your rear axel bushes could be weak and on heavy braking as your rear wheels are fighting for grip the axel is moving on the bushes and making the rear steer iwould also look at your front wishbone bushes as they can also make the car unstable under heavy braking if they are weak . i ended up polly bushing my car it transformed it . akso if the abs light was on your cars electronc brake force distrubution (ie load vave) will not be working properly . so it could be over braking the rear wheels

  11. all that rushing around to geat your steering rack done and you go and do that to your gearbox not 20 miles from my work . im so gald i called it a day and we didnt do a power run that would have made a hell of a mess in the rolling road lol
  12. cant beliv the box went after we fitted the rack and set up the tracking in just over 2 hours. we proper went at it . i just got in and tony buzzed be told me his box had thrown the planet wheels through the box and it f**ked . so if anybody can help him out with a nice cheep gearbox im sure he would be really pleased . its so unfair that sh** like that happens to a person thats as nice a bloke as tony when there are other people in the world that are nasty bar***ds that have all the luck . so l come on lets see the true dubber s help out some1 in need

  14. tony i think you are doing a wise thing having a third rolling roed i know that it is not hard to fiddle with the settings and affect figures . i would say we have had about 15 cars on are rolling road since it has be calibrated and my boss does not belive in messing with the figures as he wants true readings to set up all are race cars . be good to catch up with you on sat and i will be very interasted to see how all three dinos compare
  15. we had a hot rod on there today u cant belive how noisy that was . once u get some heat in your tyres they will be fine .
  16. dont fret jim we have a trailer and a car to tow it with . hoping to kick off about 930 so if people can be there for 9 to 9 30 that would be good. it will be first come first served and jim can go last if helikes of we could start with no tuneded and do them from lowest to highest estimated power that could be good for a gigle . we have not done this before but i would say 20 mins to do a power run with staping down ect
  17. yer baby who needs fiberglass when i have mdf a jigsaw and a router a table saw ansd some no more nails . To be honest i cant see it could be much worse i could even use a wood stain rather than paint lol
  18. dam some one beat me to it i was going to do something like that to my new vento not ! not long till i start it now kitchen is nearly finshed . to be honest you have to give him 10 out a 10 for trying but 0 out of t0 for the outcome waste of tme and toltaly messed up the value of the car a true dubber knows less is more its all down to the little details .
