Update i got a second hand ecu from a breakers yard and left it in with vw this afternoon they wont be able to code it untill tomorrow *fingers crossed*

I had a bad day at the breakers today well it started of to a good one and went from bad to worse anyone ever tried to take an ecu from a sharan vr6 ? Tools i had was a set of spanners and a socket set and 2 visegrips omg 3 hours later ecu started to move loads of cussing and swearing LOL and then it just poped out. Anti theft screws everywhere in a sharan ??? eh hello always remember to take the set of tx with the hole in the centre of the driver

1 You get an uprated fuel pump, intercooler pipes stage 3 pulley and tensioner and a side mount intercooler, 2 Vortech reckon 315 bhp, 3 It takes about 4-6 hours i believe, 4 Nope the kit has been made to fit with minor modifications. I was looking at the same thing a couple of months ago and was advised not to bother by some people in the know But each to there own, the routing of the pipework is insane. Out from the charger around and down along side the exhaust manifold under the gearbox into the side mount intercooler then straight up into the engine bay around between the battery and coi -

Hmmmm Vince is sorting something out for me at the moment and the alarm has been removed 3 weeks ago. I have the haltech icm it was delivered last friday i cant wait to fit them msd coils now that i have everything to do the conversion murphys law LOL

Yep you can run a 2.9 bottom end with your 2.8 head both engines are exactly the same, its the electronics that differ between obd1 and obd2 some early engines have a dist changeover was about mid 93. The cheapest option would be find a good motor in a scrappys so you dont need to go changing timing chains gaskets etc providing you find a good motor

I now have everything to go ahead with this conversion LOL but i have another problem the car wont start well technically it will and run for a second and cuts out i have had it on vagcom and no faults found. I was on the phone to vince last week for about 30 mins trying other things but no joy. So the car was brought to a main dealers last tuesday and they have never seen a vr6 golf with obd2 electronics not starting and not showing any fault codes, i am gonna collect the car today and send the ecu to vince for testing. So i will be delayed again :-(

Main dealers have no idea whats wrong with my golf, no fault codes alarm fully removed replaced ecu relay and fuel pump relay new sytec fuel pump, Next thing to do is get the car back and send the ecu over to vince in stealth for testing after that full loom out and check all wires (a bit extreme i know) maybe the installation and the removal of the alarm has done some damage or some connection has broke down but its the only way i can be sure. I miss driving my golf
