Does the pipercross have any kind of heat shielding or container housing? Because the only thing you need to ensure is that the induction cone filter is shielded from the engine bay heat otherwise you will draw hot air into the engine and reduce performance. Let us know how you get on. AMD said an induction kit may affect the MAF sensor (air fuel sensor).

Stealth say an ODB2 car tends to have on average 190+bhp? My car's a P-reg 1997 vr6... does that mean I have a larger throttle body and ODB2? Is there an easy way for me to look under the bonnet and confirm?

Wouldn't have thought so as the standard 15" takes 205 or 195 on a 50 profile. You are going to a 45 tyre profile which will make the overall wheel size smaller. Normally you'd have to go up to a 16 or 17" to have a 45 profile and keep the overall size the same. The only very slight thing you may notice is your speedometer goes up the scale a fraction quicker when in fact you are going slower (only by a fraction mind you). That is because you have reduced the overall wheel diameter (hub plus tyre profile). Conversely if you fit huge wheels that are bigger than standard (again hub diameter

Hi I like my standard 15" bbs alloy wheels but want to go for something bigger possibly 17". I still want to keep the BBS multispoke design. Are there any companies or places to source a good set of second hand wheel tyre deals for less than

Oh right thanks. I think I'll stick with the standard anti-roll bars then. Do strut braces improve the cornering significantly? I've heard some people say they make little difference, others say they do? Is that a strut brace in your engine bay in your pic? Where does the rear strut brace fit...in the boot? Thanks Matt

Hi Can anyone answer the question above? I was parked next to a P-reg BMW M3 which had some nice Schnizer alloys but the disks seemed very similar in size to my own which are standard... there was possibly a few cm difference but even so my front disks look large and take up most of the standard 15 inch bbs alloy. What do anti-roll bars do? Will they make my car wallow less or roll less going round corners? I know they wont make it as stable as fitting coilovers but have been advised on here not to even fit 30mm lowering springs (even good quality ones) as they make the ride unbearable apparently! Therefore was wondering what cheaper options there are, and if anti-roll bars make any kind of difference at all, and what sort of price am I looking at? Are they fairly straight forward to fit on the front and rear? What are strut braces? Are these the same thing and are they expensive? Do anti-roll ba

Hi Please can anyone answer the question above? Stealth and AMD both do a remap for about the same price. Has anyone had it done...did it make a big difference? Should the remap ideally be done after a high flow cat is added? I'm leaving the standard air filter on as I've been told by both Stealth and AMD that there is very little difference at all fitting an aftermarket kit...inc. BMC, they said about 1-2bhp increase if that, as the standard one is very efficient apparently. Cheers Matt

Hi I've heard of a few superchargers, mainly the (Z engineering) ZR1 and ZR2 and Vortech superchargers. However I've just heard there is another one, the C2. Is this as good as a Vortech and as reliable? Does it have steel rotors or are they ceramic and does it feed of oil from the car engine? Does it produce similar power output and what sort of prices would I be looking at buying one brand new...cheapest possible price ideally? Many thanks for your help.

Plus the ad also states it can fit a Honda. That can't be right - unless I'm mistaken Honda vehicles require chargers that rotate the opposite way to 99% of cars - definitely the opposite way to a VW. I may be wrong. The advert looked like a bargain although seems risky. What is a C2 charger and how much do they go for brand new? Can they be sourced second hand anywhere?

Will an Eaton 45 supercharger from a Mini Cooper S fit a mk3 Golf VR6?

Thanks. I'll avoid this s/c! Thanks for the info. -
Thanks for the info about HIC... I was considering them. I've found out Elephant (Admiral) dont allow major mods so am thinking about moving. However this has given me second thoughts about HIC. What is Greenlight like? I've heard from other members they allow superchargers and major mods so I may look into going with them in the near future... unless I hear any bad stories from anyone! Cliveyp I love your headlights... are they mark 4 conversion lights of some kind? What make and model are they...were they expensive or easy to put on your car?

I'm with Elephant.co.uk - do they allow you to add engine modifications?

Thanks for your help guys. Will Elephant allow chips / remaps? -
Hi I have found someone who is selling their Eaton 45 supercharger which they were going to fit to their VR6 but never did. The s/c is from a Mino Cooper S. I'm a bit wary of the fact that it may not be compatible with a mk3 golf vr6. Is this the case or will it fit everything fine?? It has a custom made non-return valve, however I'm not sure what this would be used for? It's being sold for less than
