    this is probably to do with the fan speed controller. Located just behind the lower glove box / or main glove box if you have a passanger air bag.

    Ford should be able to get you a set of V6 Galaxy piston rings. They will probably have to order them in from VW for you. Check prices and delivery times.

    for sure. not too bad a job. best to replace entire thing: 3 parts + seals. good quality kits are available on ebay.

    Expect entrance to billing to be around £10-£15 per CAR for a day ticket on saturday based on last years prices and the increase in just about everything Plus something to the club to cover BBQ and Show and Shine trophies which we are still figuring out Camping for those wanting to get an early start cleaning or make a weekend of it should be less than £20 per night per CAR again. But as Tony says.. watch this space, or a similar one ;-)

    A lot of VR lumps weep there. So yes, something to keep an eye on but no not necessarily a sign of an imminant failure.

    http://www.speedtest.net/ is the tester I use. on a good day, right time, I can get upto 5.5MB on an 8MB ADSL (phoneline) package from Virgin But right now it's down to under 1MB due to contention.
