  1. 4th & 5th Nov? I think you ( we ;-) ) maybe pushing the weather for the next full weekend after that (18th/19th) I've still got ferry, breakdown and travel insurance covered so could be a cheap weekend for me, unless I break another clutch. Outside off Nurburg/Adenau you can get accomodation for 50E a night. And I think you'll find it got further then that, my recall has it coming up to Adenau Forst, that famous 2nd gear / 100mph bend :-p TG
  2. A 1992 J with 159K miles. Will still hold it's own against newer Highlines. Chains only done 3K ago for first time, albeit about 20K late.
  3. I'll need to record some and dub it on. The natural sound for the road clips had whatever music was playing in car which didn't cut together well.
  4. Enjoy. SVCD quality download (181MB) : http://www.sendspace.com/file/xdmdoi (free server with limited bandwidth so please save to your local machine) ..Or.. 5. PM would be best. Less chance of some internet spider or scan bot type thing getting hold of them for spam purposes. TG
  6. I'm in :-p No really, I would like to help, as I'll be there anyway and already have the polo shirt. TG
  7. The main bulbs are standard types, can't remember the size/# but think they are the same as normal. I doubt the LEDs in the rings are replaceable but should last for a long, long time having no filaments to burn out. I've got some lense covers from VW to protect them from stone chips. I had to get mine adjusted but my car was in the garage when they arrived and I couldn't help playing! It will also depend on the stance of your car. Park up facing a wall and mark the light spots so you can check once you swapped the lamps. My only issue is that because I drive with them on all the time, I

  10. Many thanks to Mark and James foir getting us motivated. Special thanks to VrSick for letting me drive J4KE X and for being so gentlemanly when I broke it so early into the trip. VRSyncro's lovely paint job, although the picture doesn't do it justice at all. No introduction required Three down, three to go But it could have been worse What to do with your C Spanners, once your highsports have ceased. 11. One (dead cert) please, including piss up. TG
  12. I'll second that. I just don't want to go to work tomorrow. Anyway, back to the GT4 methadone to try and beat the withdrawl. TG
  13. After a lot of midnight discussions at Ed38, I went to see how much to book another VR6 onto the ferry. And it's full. Even more reason to be there promptly, you don't wanna get bumped. TG
  14. Before Saturday? You'll be lucky. If you want to bring the stuff along I'll be happy to have a look/help. When you get the software, look out for the manual as well. I used to have a PDF but can't find it. I remember it has some basic 'is every thing connected' checks which would be good to try b4 going to far. TG
  15. VrSick: Does it take 2GB SD cards? I've got 2x1GB and 1x2GB SD cards, but only the 2GB is empty. Seademon: Do you have the receiver and something to record onto? I'm on for the leasure centre at 6. TG
  16. In english ? Scorchio! 3% chance of rain falling at the rate of zero litres / m2 and 52% humidity. Now I am excited, should be perfect weather for filming, from the trackside obviously ;-)
  17. ADAC here. :-) It's getting close. The weather forecast sites now have the weekend, looking good.
  18. (Something I found whilst googling 4 history/gossip behind another recent thread regarding membership #s ;-) ) An old article, but the theory is still valid. What's a chip? … Just a more common and friendly term for an Eprom, one of many components held on the circuit board of the E.C.U. (computer) which controls your engine. When you re-chip your car, you are changing the values inside this eprom to make them a better match for your engines's requirements. The revised values are loaded into another chip, which then replace the original chip on your E.C.U.'s circuit board. The engine then us

Don't be too sucked in by the milage. On VRs is seems to matter less on how far they've been and more on how they got there. A number of low milers have come to light which run like dogs because they've only be used for short journeys and never got hot enough for the oil to do all that it could. TG
  20. there was an official letter from the GmbH to the tourist drivers on touristenfahrer.de written by Manfred Strack (http://www.touristenfahrerforum.de/forum/showthread.php?t=8725). Translation by Johannes. "Dear fans of the Nordschleife, tourist driving on the Nordschleife is unique in the world, which makes us proud. It makes the longest and most beautiful track of the world available to as many people as possible. The TF exist from the beginning, since almost 80 years, and they are a constant in the leisure time of many motorsport enthusiasts and visitors of the Eifel region. First of all, d
