  1. Dreamt about the 'Ring last night. Although it was more of a nightmare since it was sleeting and my old Ma was driving!
  2. Good job Bex is back :-d And looking blacker than ever.
  3. Sorry, my mistake. Can't see any problem in having you both at one end, and Jake when he's not on the strip.
  4. And if you do, pray he's forgotten to open his NOZ bottle valves :-d
  5. Looking very good [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1175161645_2196_FT148551_looking_good.jpg][/lightbox]
  6. It should run whenever the ignition is on and us also linked to the after run fan http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?158598

If the ECU had problems before it was chipped even Vince the Wizard might not be able to help you. What problem did the ECU originally develop?
  8. Sorry for mixing my measurement systems. I meant Newton Metres of tourques
  9. I think you being way conservative on the Nms My guess: 186 horses and 237 torques
  10. I couldn't find it, even on a small 2l lump. Went out for a bash anyway, lovely evening for it, and it behaved impeccably. This morning in the mist/fog it's playing up again. Go figure!
  11. Or Adrian Flux. Sign up as a premium member and you'll get upto a 15% discount . All the numbers you need are in the VR6OC Yellow Pages: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/yellowpages/yellowpages.php TG
  12. Traction Control is only present on early OBD1's ABS systems IIRC And wasn't at all on GTis. But I'd agree it did feel like TC; the pedal didn't kick back as much as full ABS operation. The ABS ECU does have a dedicated earth, to somewhere on the engine block. I'm gonna make sure it's good and clean tonight and then go out and try to replicate my problems ;-)
  13. Dunno, but it shouldn't be too hard to fool the system into thinking everyhting is hunky dory. Use a multi-meter to measure the resistance of the wear sensor in your old pads ( possibly ~zero ) and use a suitable resitor, or wire, to bridge the connectors on the plug. Probably a good idea anyway so as not to mask any other problems the brake warning light is used for, ie fluid level.

  15. Graduated VED wasn't thought up until 2001. I can only guess they thought it unfair to apply it to exisiting cars. We do pay more for having older, more polluting cars ( although of course carbon dioxide isn't a pollutant ). You where right, by emmissions a VR6 (with cat ;-) ) would be in group E making our graduated VED tax £15 less. Owners of old 1600cc cars must be even more out of pocket.
  16. The graduated VED is only for cars regisatered since March 2001 so all MK3 VR6s are taxed using the old scale ( <1549cc & > 1549cc. ) So it's going up £5 this year and the same amount next. Happy days :-) [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1174848592_2196_FT166302_tax.jpg][/lightbox]
  17. Just read the Ed38 thread as my 16ver has started doing it. Just in time for it's trip to the 'Ring :S Something that hasn't been mentioned is a bad earth. My wiring diagrams are at work so I can't check if the ABS ECU shares an earth or has it's own dedicated one, but it certainly could explain every ones symptoms.
  18. On a standard VR6 Golf, V would be enough. VW only claim a top speed of 143. Although with all the speed cams in the UK even V is a bit overkill unless your going on track or to Germany.
  19. Believe me yours is special enough; VW UK only sold 260 VR6 Ventos! It'd be great to have something other then Golfs on the stand. VR6 Corrados always seem to hang out with the other Corrados.
  20. Who fitted the superchip? I'd start be putting the ECU back to how it was, if possible.
  21. It might not be! But you'll need to know how to loosen the belt to change which ever pully it is.
