  1. sfs is the way to go mate, cheaper than samco, equal quality etc
  2. I think the point here is not so much which is quicker, because lets face it there is many cars quicker than the VR. BUT how many of these faster cars are as relaiable and practical as the VR? Not many! The VR is a truely superb all rounder! and still does not look dated unlike many other hot hatches etc like the rs turbo, which imo looks really old now.
  3. both ways have there own merits and there own complications. To be honest if 2K is your limit i would keep an eye out for 2nd hand units. Otherwise i would hold on and save a little bit more. 300bhp is very achievable but at a cost.. There is a vast range of super charger kits, C2 from us, and VF from NS etc. turbo kits for rhd will be available soon, but is not straight forward and the cost will prob be more than SC the car, due to the extra cost of additional parts to make things work reliably. Try looking at the vortech forum, lots of info there
  4. exhaust chice makes a big difference on the skyline
  5. they are not to noisy really, i have one and makes ess noise than some of the nieghbours diesels
  6. yes they are swweeetttt.....but not as expensive to import as you may think
  7. stock rs turbo, yes it will be faster they have 130bhp as apposed to your 170+bhp, but go up against a resonably modified rs turbo and chances are you will loose, but as stated before alot depends on the driver, also power to weight rato etc
  8. Just come and buy an R34 gtr off me nerih, or if you want a stage 2 kit i will do you a part ex on your stage 1 and sort out a V2 sq
  9. kevhaywire is right and silkolene is good stuff
  10. the vr engine gets bl**dy hot and you need an oil that can cope with the temperatures generated, oil will break down very quickly if it working outside of its perameters
  11. 10- 60 or 10-50 or 15-50, but would not want to use a lower gradient if you drivee the car hard
  12. i wont flame ya, i like the st200 and st220, both vey nice motors for the money
  13. But bear in mind that Maganatec will not mix with other oils due to its special blend and magnatized polimers (bad spelling) so any residue in the engine wont mix well with magnatec
  14. try cleaning airflow meter, check all earths. could poss be engine temp sensor, like the man says, get it on vagcom
  15. i would go for a 2.5 inch diameter and 3 max
  16. only real difference is the platinum will last longer and are slightly more resistant to det
  17. 10 40 will be fine, just use a good quality brand, millers, castrol or valvolene
