    Well thanks for the comments am well gutted ,I wish the full car had gone ..... anyway the insurance have written it off CAT C vw wanted £8315.33 for the missing bits GULP.....I have got hold of replacement airbags £110 from local breakers yard just need to find a nice trim once the insurance payout comes...     Well it all started last saturday 11 November as usual at the weekend I went to collect my beloved VR from my lock-up in my work van,just as I got to the garage I noticed my padlock had gone thats when my stomach churrned !!! THIS IS WHAT I FOUND Then to top it all the insurance company decided to send my car to Co Durham by MISTAKE and the salvage yard had there picking of parts before I got the car back on friday mius my fogs,inicators,reflectors,various switches AR*****S

    Had the car in my local garage today and he plugged in and found a few faults one being (00796 Fan for Integer Temperature Sensor -V42) does anyone know what this is or experienced this fault apparently something to do with the aircon I have digital climate if this makes any difference thanks in advance Lee

    Im after some new tyres for the vr im running BBS solitudes so I need 205/50/15 i've heard that goodyear eagle F1's are the muts nuts but the only place that I can find selling this size are expensive any advice people ........

    Mine is a daily driver too but im not allowed to drive for 12 months(medical reason) so im gutted but im back on the road JUNE 20th hehe car is lookin good i cant wait i do have a work van aswell but it isnt half as much fun to drive

    I had this problem remove the headlight switch and open the unit I used a knife (careful) you have a bulb inside these go not very expensive try that...Lee

    Help Me ! ! ! i've found a mint MK3.5 dash from a cab and would really like to fit it in to my VR ,the only thing that concerns me is i have digital climate ! im sure i read on here that to fit climate you need all the tiny (probes,thermos) will i just need to swap the dash (shell) or do i need to change the air outlets any help is well appreciated Thanks in advance.......

    141,000 slight chain noise loads of power hehe had a check list from VW STEALERS for £2300+vat got all the bushes replaced n work done for £500 from a good friend drives like new dont ever want to get rid......

    Well the guy we got it from said the sump had a small oil leak and that there was condensation on near the head gasket!i mean i thought 170 mile with no stops or refilling of water/oil was good for a suspect gasket problem we checked the levels and they was not much of a noticeble difference ...Cheers for the replies

    Hiya need some help I just got back from picking up my cousins VR with him ,the guy he got it from told us his local garage suspect a head gasket problem (hence the cheap price)i have a full vr for spares so decided to drive back to manchester from lincoln 160 miles no problems digital temp went to 108-116 normal gauge sat at 82 ish no loss of water and no mayo on the cap also no traces of water on the dip stick,the car is a late 95 ODB2 my donor car is a 1994 ODB1 if it is the gasket what will i need to change for the ODB1 to fit both cars are complete so i should have all the bits Thanks....
