  1. Blimey, that is one shiney Schrick!
  2. Seem a waste not to fit some decent ARBs whilst you are under there!! BTW, where in Surrey are you?

    i need help

My speedo needle seems to sit lower! Huge pic warning!
  4. Yep! How the hell did I miss them? I've been searching ebay for some decent rims for the last couple of weeks! They will look fantastic once you've got them sorted out and the right tyres on! Jammy Git!
  5. Most people fit an alarm and have it rigged into that. You can buy separate kits just for the remote locking - search on google for a company called Microscan - i think they sell the kits still.
  6. You don't download it as such. Host it somewhere on the net, and then you put the address in your profile.
  7. I'd like to run mine, but it's not running right yet. Think i have probs with the Schrick and it's showing high levels of knock on hard acceleration. If it's sorted in time and there's still spaces, I'd be up for it! Car was last rolling roaded by AMD in 1999 at 207bhp, so be interesting to see what five years and another 50,000 miles has done to it! BTW vdubgirl, 'Eat this' is listed twice in the current list of attendees!!
  8. Should fit happily enough with 205/40/17's. You may get a tiny bit of rubbing on the arch edges which may need a little massaging!
  9. These ARBs are great, I have to say! Despite the koni's on mine being 50k old, the handling is spot on!
  10. Hi Nick, I've recently joined here, but you may remember meeting me in a Chelmsford car park a long long time ago, to relieve you of some lowering springs!! Glad to hear you didn't have to sell your VR!
  11. That's a silly price IMHO. I paid less than his buy it now price for mine - Black 3dr 97 P plate, 70,000 miles, and loads of mods including Schrick manifold... Ok it needs a bit of work and the wheels are ming, but so are his!!
  12. Steve was talking about lowering it a bit more at the front earlier!
  13. Yes, that is an utterly appalling pic! You still wish you had Beetle wheels like me though Steve!
  14. With Brentacre here too. I've dealt with most of the others over the years - HIC, Greenlight, Flux etc, but consistently find John and Kerry at Brentacre to be the most helpful and knowledgeable motor brokers I've come across, and so far they've also managed to beat every competitors premium I've thrown at them!
  15. This does make it a little more difficult, but still it does appear they have sold you the wrong product. I'm no expert on such matters, but you must have a case against them. Any trading standards experts on here??
  16. 5x100, means there are 5 bolts, and if you imagine a circle going through the middle of them, the diameter of that circle is 100mm. It's usually detailed somewhere on the back of the wheel. I think your first mistake may have been using a company listed in Max Power! But still, they should be capable of selling the correct wheels. If the wheels are wrong, then it doesn't matter if you have fitted them, they are required by law to sort out the situation.
  17. Please Mister, donate them RH's to a good cause?!!
  18. Are they definitely the right fitment? Sounds a bit odd that the bolt holes don't line up! Why did they come with spacers? Again, sounds like they are the wrong offset too?

    Footrest!

I hadn't noticed it was any different to the GTI, but presumably you mean this bit next to the clutch? [ Edited Mon Dec 06 2004, 09:20PM ]
  20. Here's some better pics, though it was starting to get a bit dark... [ Edited Sun Dec 05 2004, 11:36PM ]
  21. acf, that's about right on the plans! The first things to do are making everything work properly, but once that's done alloys are first. I'l probably loose all the badges apart from VW, and not decided yet about the headlights, I actually quite like these!
  22. Don't you worry, I'll be ordering them tomorrow! Having come from a Mk3 GTI which had them as standard, the front end of this just looks so gay with the little splitters! Simon, yes that's the one Steve was talking about!
  23. Mark, he lives in Canterbury, but he sometimes works round here, in Croydon etc, so you may have seen him at some point.
  24. It certainly can't look any more gay than my Beetle wheels!! I saw that on ebay and was thinking about it too actually, don't think it would look bad on a black car.
