  1. Pity the bloke who sprayed my bonnet doesn't know what silicone is.... ~ Will be redone one day......
  2. I spent most of today claying the VR. The paint has to be seen (and felt) to be believed!
  3. Somewhere between K2 and Everest. Interestingly, VR6'S came as standard from the factory with a tank of compressed oxygen, in case owners felt short of breath at high altitude.
  4. Most RS6 sets , if not all, would be 18s or 19s. Thats why you dont see them on Mk 3's.
  5. I sent that dude a question on ebay about the years - 99-05 or whatever. He couldnt really give a definitive answer about the fact that over here, those years are 24valve. He asked me to find out for him if it would fit cars outside the US!

  7. IMHO My advice - honestly - don't do it. Spend the money on suspension. It will cost a fraction of the cost of 18s and 35 profile rubber. The ride, handling, rubbing, crash and bang caused by the wheel and tyre combo, coupled with the pitch and wallow of the standard supension will be pretty much undriveable. I dont think you'd respect the views on this forum if we were not honest.
  8. IMHO I wouldnt touch clearcoat or pearl/metallic paint with T cut unless all else had failed. Use elbow grease. It only comes in small pots and is a bitch to put on, but its worth it.
  9. I was looking for the flange at the end too. Alwyas looking for the flange...... !amazed I have ordered vf eng engine mounts from ecs. They offer a package price, and then I find out one is out of stock!
  10. I'll stick my hand up and say that the RAC have helped me out far more then done me harm. Lockouts from my old Stag, smashed alternator in my old Stag...Busted Ferarri water pump....always got me where I'm going, no matter how sketchy my choice of car for the journey may have been........
  11. What a transformation. Top effort! Youve got the owners club sticker wher e I want mine, except mine would get "wiped" all the time!
  12. Peloquin is a copy (and some say improvement) of the quaife. Quaife forgot, so it goes, to renew the patent in the US, so Mr Peloquin copied the lsd, improved it and sold it cheaper (most places). Nothing on the 'bay can be kept quiet. I know where it all is! So in answer to my hijack, would the mk4 and mk 3 use the same differential o2a o2o o2j......? Thus: Up for sale a NEW Locking LSD Diff made by Peloquins, Made for any 5 speed 1.8 Turbo VW transmission. DIff comes with all the hardware that is needed to install into your 1.8t 5 speed.
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4610938492&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT May be the the right one. Also, if someone said they had one for the 1.8T engines/boxes, that would be right too?
  14. Back away from the hot cams! Join the queue!
  15. Dont mix the coolants. They are like a two-part glue! !grr Flush, Flush, Flush!
  16. I'd make a reasonable offer come June. HANG ON TIL THEN!
  17. No chance. They could never say they are a performance mod. In fact they must be safer than standard, and they dont make the car more stealable...
  18. Does Micheldever still exist? For REALLY big tyres it was always worth driving miles for us to go there.. A303 near Basingstoke.....Only for those in the south then.
  19. Nice work! Save yourself hassle in future and keep on top of the paint finish with a light wax, little and often for for the next while, and the winter crud wont stay put. Suggest a pair of bonrath vents withthe deep chin spoiler.
  20. just2zang. I've seen that name on a website that looks just like the old version of this one!
