Sorry to here the news Claire, glad Ian is ok. Personally I think DD's involved in accidents should be dealt with more severly, i.e. attempted man-slaughter or something. Glad to here it was just the work van though.
At some point will be after a chrome bonnet catch and chrome bonnet hinges. How much Justin? :-) Saw you got a fuel rail of a guy on eBay. Did you get the clips for the injectors and stuff as well? What else do you get done at the chromers Justin?
Do you have the rocker cover gasket part number to hand Justin? The one I got looks right but just want to make sure before I get vince to fit them for me. Plus I wont look like a twat if I give him the wrong bits! :-)
Yeah, thats what I though I was getting. Taking my car up to stealth to get the rear axle bushes done mid october so will probably just get him to do it. Just phoned Vince and im waiting on him to look at some digi photos I sent him of the bits ive got. Nothings straight forward is it. :-(
Just came back from VW with gaskets and bolts to fit my polished ally rocker cover. There are 8 bolts and 2 sleves ?! The 8 bolts all have sleeves on which you cant get through the holes in the rocker cover! :-( Does anybody have any advice on how I can fit my rocker cover? Can the orignal bolts off of my old rocker cover (late black plastic) be used? Going to phone up Stelth in a bit for some advice. Hope somebody can help. :-(
Just been to VW to pick up some bits and pieces for my rocker cover and manifold and asked about that tool. The guy I spoke to said it costs £17.50 + vat. So roughly £20. But they have to order them in. He wouldnt tell me who made them though cant make a direct comparison to what ive just ordered. Still £27 isnt much more plus most of the difference is probably postage anyway.
Just ordered one of these (click) from a company called Damar International. Spoke to a lady called Hazel who would give any of us a 15% discount on this tool (may be others). The total came to £27.05 which includes carriage and VAT. A lot cheaper than the Snap-On tool! Anyway the phone number is 01162-764144. She did say that if enough people wanted to buy them then she may be able to do a further discount. (Group Buy!)
